I remember playing all the classic Castlevania and remember that there were a lot of unfair challenges and a lot of "rethinking" strategies but I still wanted to go on from the Game Over screen.

All of his complains seem ok to me. Like they are not going to hinder my experience.

That's a pretty arrogant statement. So he/she says that if you happen to enjoy Thief, then you are ignorant and don't know anything about videogames?

Maybe I just don't care what you or your mom thinks about the game because I may enjoy it.

Lament a DMC ripoff? There are not even close to being similar. The fighting mechanics are way different. DMC is just about action, while Castlevania is about exploration. This is like comparing Contra with the original Castlevania. They have similar POV but are entirely different. In fact I see Lament to be closer to Ninja Gaiden than DMC. I actually don't like DMC and that immediately would have made me hate Lament of Innoncence.

It was innovative. It was the first time...

That's because Lament Of Innocence was a sort of "homage" to all the classicvanias (Castlevania 1 to 3) while Curse Of Darkness was an attempt at Symphony Of The Night once they knew the Lament formula worked. I did not like Curse that much because I felt the forging system and the use of the familiars felt more like Pokemon than Castlevania.

I didn't say I disliked Lords Of Shadow 1. I love the game, I have no complains about it. I loved the story. To me i...

It sucks. Next to none Sonic and Shadow segments. Most of the game is either Tails type of missions or Knuckles type of missions and they are incredibly boring. You just keep going forward so you can play another Sonic or Shadow stage.

I can't take seriously the opinion of someone who thinks that Lords Of Shadow 1 is the only 3D Castlevania that matters or is good. Forgetting the gem that was Lament Of Innocence, it's innovation, style, amazing music and respect for the source material tells me that this guy doesn't really know anything about Castlevania more than the average gamer.

Because of that, and stating that the characters are bland, etc I choose to not trust his review at all.

Most action games back then didn't have a good story. The gameplay in this remake is excellent. Same with the exploration. Everytime you get a power up you feel like you can traverse faster and better through all the areas.

The boss fights are kinda easy though (i'm playing it on Hard mode)

There's PLENTY more indie devs who had to go through similar stuff or worse, yet they were professional enough to keep cool under the pressure.

This is not about his answers to the hateful comments, but he also made pretty arrogant remarks to people who looked up to him (like when the asian kid who barely spoke english asked him about Japanese games).

This is someone I wouldn't want to keep having to listen to because most of what he says is just dest...

I wouldn't buy it anyway. I will not give Phil Fish my money

And what about the sheer amount of great 3rd party games that these so calls Nintendo gamers NEVER buy? This is your fault for not buying the games, but it is easier to blame "lazy, old, mediocre devs"

Examples?:

Muramasa.
Sin & Punishment.
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.
Lost Winds.
MadWorld.
Rayman.
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barabros
Monster Hunter Tri

Just to name a few.

There is a problem with the "Hero-Against-All-Odds story" and that is if the Hero doesn't learn anything from it's predicament and keeps doing the same things again and again because they survived.

There are plenty of lessons to learn from this current situation. It's ok if Nintendo does not want to directly compete with Microsoft and Sony and they want to offer something else, however, they must, at least, provide their userbase with on-par services to ...

I have it on my Vita and I feel that it is not worth it on consoles. It feels like a handheld game and it is very short. Its a decent game, confusing controls and cameras, but interesting ONLY if you like exploration games

Even if they outsource the works, they still need Nintendo's supervision if you want the games to be "Nintendo-good". This affects all other works

We don't need HD remakes, we need new content. Everyone always say how Nintendo is the only one who can make Nintendo games, so let Nintendo do their magic and let the other companies do their magic. If they want to do an HD remake of a game it's fine, but it should NEVER be the main focus.

What does that have to do with my point? Absolutely nothing. Neither the PS2 nor the PS3 were riding in the success of the remakes. In both cases they were released just to please fans who were requesting them (and obviously for the money), but neither Sony nor Konami wanted those remakes to be "the way of the future".

My point is not that Nintendo should no do remakes at all, my point is that they should not focus in them and it is absolutely not the "way of t...

It is for me, because it will affect me and the reason I bought the console. If all they plan to do is to release remakes and we have to wait longer for new games, it affects me directly.

Plus, anyone can play most of the games by downloading them from the VC, there are no excuses.

The main buyers of remakes are players who already played and loved the games. The rest will go along with what the general perspective of the game is and buy it out of faith.

Looking for success in remakes and riding on nostalgia feels really cheap to me. I appreciate the occasional remake, but I prefer new games.

So this game is also like Soul Sacrifice? I was expecting something more action oriented actually.

This is a very insteresting, smart and kinda dirty tactic. He opens up the possibility of the game showing up in PS4 so a lot of players will decide to wait. This obviously can impact potential sales of the game in Xbox One or 360 and sales of the consoles too, but, if the game does not come out in PS4, well he can say that it was just a possibility.

Remember Ninja Gaiden and Mass Effect? How about Titanfall Sigma 1? :P

If there is a petition to port it to PS4 anywhere, I will gladly sign it.

If the game delivers, I will pay the whole $60 if you want to.
