It's pretty simple really folks, the reason why there has been a lack of Colonial assassinations for this game is because the U.S. government, who have been highly critical of violent games and are a touch patriotic, would probably attempt to ban a video game where American revolutionaries are portrayed as the bad guy.

I read a research paper once on piracy in Hong Kong where people pirated video games, films etc because of ridiculous censorship laws and excessive waiting times for releases meaning that in essence people were prohibited from enjoying most international media. In that situation piracy, whilst in my opinion still theft, becomes a course of action worth considering and debating.
