I always thought apps were native to mobile devices like Phones and Tablets. Couldn't it be possible that the app can run on your phone and the Tablet based Switch??? Or it could be the "Pro Controller" is a better 2nd option when you already get 2 JoyCons with Switch. I remember when Nintendo unveiled the N64 controller with an analog stick and then the GameCube controller with 2 analog sticks and the backlash was very negative and look at controllers now. WaveBird, negative backlash, now wireless is the preferred way to play. See a pattern here.

PS4 and X1 however are completely different consoles then their predecessors even tho they both basically do the same things as last Gen with a couple new features?

I think the one fact that everyone is missing is that the Switch is a combination of Nintendos mobile and home console meaning that going forward developers wont have to split time and resources between the Wii U and 3DS for example. Instead they will devout that time to making one Nintendo port/exclusive whereas before they had to make two or choose. Nintendos mobile gaming has always had tremendous 3rd party support and the same should hold true for the switch.
In all Fairness, the lack of third party support and release of 1st party games was a Nintendo Home console problem. In the mobile gaming world, they received allot of 3rd party support and kept a steady stream of games releasing. The Switch is the perfect console for Nintendo at this point. Well I HAD PLANNED on buying this game in the bargain bin late Jan for the multiplayer, but since thats not going to happen, I'll just download it in a couple weeks. My extra time is pretty much taken up playing Fast Racing and Xenoblade X at the moment. It looks fun and to me that counts more than the reasons its said not to play it.
I agree that Zelda will be the last major announcement on Wii U. NX will release holiday with a new F Zero, Metroid, and Original Mario game. I also think most future Nintendo games will have different multiple engines to adjust the game to the device your using. On a phone it's 8 to 32 bit. On a console it's 1080 to 4k.
Zelda is going online with multiplayer quest in open world format, complete with male and female player models. Just a thought. Also available in bundle with Twilight Princess.
I personally lost interest when they announced no online play. All I have wanted fir over a decade is to blast my friends out space in multiplayer dogfighTS. Nintendo has disappointed me with the Wii U, though I'm still getting XenoBlade, Fast Racing and Devils Third. They really are going to have to show me something if they want me to buy the NX.

They have been working on increasing development time since the release of the Wii U. They didnt fully understand HD development at first but now they have the hang of it. Plus Nintendo spent alot of money restructuring their development resources so that they could produce quality First party titles in a shorter amount of time. I think the Old days of Nintendo working on games for long periods is over with. I believe moving forward we will see alot of titles with shorter development time.
I plan on getting a secondary console for two reasons mainly. Sports games are non existant on Nintendo and most of my friends have a X1 or PS4 so buying co-op multiplatform games would make sense. I do buy 3rd parties on Nintendo when they are available, but I have realized its not worth it. Project Cars may be the exception tho. Personally I think the GamePad is a great controller and yes to me, being able to have maps and inventory on the fly is much better than having to press pause.When it comes to pausing the game I think its actually more distracting than glancing down. When it comes to FPS and Racers in particular, I prefer motion and IR control over traditional controllers.
Actually no console on the market right now runs all games at 1080p 60fps. PS4 comes the closet, but even some of those aren't 1080p, 60fps.
