No lol
Enough of this obsession with PT
They aren't dying, but they sure as hell aren't as lucrative.
Well there are some genres now that the big AAA guys don't touch anymore. So it's nice to have these indie devs giving some variety. Games like Cuphead, Ori, Below, Inside, Celeste, Dead Cells etc. Are all one of a kind and something you won't get from AAA devs
If they don't do new games on PSNow then Sony will be left behind.
And saying all Gamepass is a dumpster for shitty games is just fanboy drivel. Grow up and have a real conversation
On the internet: Streaming is the future! (It eventually will be as well as a mostly digital future)
On reality: Sony was first to this and is the only one executing right now. (False, considering Sony had to buy out Gaikai just to have this service. SO obviously they weren't the first.)
On the internet: MS and EA says GaaS is the future.
On reality: Single player games are dominating providing quality experiences and winning almost all the game of th...
Because Gaikai's servers suck and it's essentially only used as a BC service. Correct me if I'm wrong but it can't even stream 1080p, right? And also once it starts getting new games then we can talk.
Okay, whatever you say. Are you suggesting they should have just waited instead? You realize that the team's who did BC aren't the same ones who create and develop video games, right?
I wasn't expecting anything, really. I thought it was dumb the moment it was announced.
Lol looks like a Google Cardboard set for your phone. Bundled with some really dumb looking games. I'll give them creativity points though on some of the cardboard designs, but these "VR" games are like the poorly made tech demos that we saw when VR was first around. No thanks.
Well that's good. Despite what some people want to say, BC is a great feature.
@2pac
Difference here is that OnLive didn't have the server infrastructure that Google can provide.
I'm not saying this will turn out to be perfect, it's almost certain to not work as well as Google hopes it will when the general public gets it's hands on it. But I won't damn them until I try it myself. Streaming will eventually be a bigger part in gaming... we are going to be seeing a lot of advancements in it within the next 5 years....
@IR
I wasn't trying to downplay the success of PSNow because yes it is the most popular service right now. But as of right now it is mostly used as a BC service mixed in with some 4 year old ps4 games. If Sony is going to continue to compete in the streaming space (since they were lucky to go all this time without a streaming competitor) they are going to have to bolster the PSNow service. That means new games, especially launch PS4 games, better servers as well since I...
Of course, MS and Google fighting for the top spot in streaming will only benefit the user. Same when Sony decides to start taking PSNow more seriously.
@Prematua
What narrative? It's a straight fact that Sony has more true exclusives and even console exclusives.
My comment has nothing to do with the cloud. I have always been critical on the MP's suite of features which it was really lacking. There isn't enough gameplay depth to hold anyone. The only depth there is how you can quickly escape because the lock on is too aggressive. Also there is no progression system at all, only 2 modes, 3 maps and the like. I also never said anything about Sony Fanboys eating crow lol please find that comment.
What I DID say back when I was ...
Yeah I called that haha It just doesn't have enough depth or features to draw in an audience.
"If a player has to sign up to xbl and pay that yearly fee... one would think there would be a need for games to entice.. no?"
I don't think you need to pay for Xbox Live, just an Xbox account, unless you want to play online.
"So I guess the bigger question is, are they locking outside games behind the service? Most games are not Microsoft’s."
How could they do that? If they do not own the game or have the publis...
Ori would be a perfect game on Switch just like Cuphead
MS is porting some of their smaller Indie games that were exclusive to them to the Switch. So yes, Switch is gaining more games while Xbox isn't, but from my understanding to play these games you'll need to create and log into an Xbox live account to play them. So while MS isn't gaining any games, they are gaining many additional accounts and users in their ecosystem. Since they are moving away from tracking sales, but now tracking total players and users... this will bump their n...
This has been a problem in any and all MP games since the dawn of forever haha
