Only reason i might get it is BECAUSE there isnt anything else... Been playing the he k out of the last of us, but without some kind of horde mode even IT gets a little "samish" after a while.

I would love to see Naughty or Guerrilla make a BIG budget game on the scope of GTA or Skyrim or something. I don't think either group has been allocated anywhere close to that sort of budget before though.

I would say this of ANY product... hype doesn't generally last long POST launch of anything if it isn't justified, but admittedly positive word of mouth benefits any product AND is usually .... due to a legitimate positive experience to begin with ... so the argument here is... what exactly??

Believe me... they ARE arbitrary figures. And to be clear we are talking about those who sat down and decided on MONITOR/TV screen resolutions (when the shift from SD to HD had yet to occur) not individual developers after the fact.
They sat down and decided what the standard would be, they could have made it higher or lower, plenty of other 16:9 resolutions to choose from. Yes there is a system/justification for their choice, but it IS/...

I'm not trying to be snide here, but can you tell me how you came to this assessment of power? Is it solely the resolution issue?
You realize these are arbitrary numbers? If the designers of the HD "experience" we know today had said "900p" will be the HD standard, would you be fine with consoles hitting 900p suddenly because it was defined by someone else as "the standard?"

Gameplay enhancements and effects for a resolution drop, worth it. I used to play the original Crysis on my old PC with everything turned up EXCEPT resolution, just so I could experience some of the glory that people with mega-PCs experienced.
On occasion though, I would turn resolution up too and play in "slide-show" mode 5 fps just to see it all...

I don't want to be a naysayer (and this has nothing to do with Xbox) I just wonder HOW. Is it just some incredible engine they are using, or is there another reason? What's the native resolution, framerate, is the stability and fidelity due to a tremendous lack in dynamic elements to the game?
