I think this is code for a plot turn, like one of the characters is going to be an astronaut or something and the origami killer is an... alien.
BF: Bad Company did that too, destructibility and vehicles can't be trumped by graphics alone, despite KZ2's amazing visuals.
Not even Greece, Kratos' home turf?
(don't waste your time trying to argue Kratos was a Spartan, same region).
I would poop myself if they "restored" the silent Hill Series and maybe brought the original Silent Hill up to at least PS2 level graphics..
Mr. McIntyre DOES need to take a few more grammar courses at, Havard did he say? Work on his tense confusion a bit.
"It is not so long ago that Microsoft... after investing tens of millions of dollars, that people like their living rooms just they way they were."
It (IS) [was] not so long ago... people (LIKE) [liked] their living rooms just the way they (WERE) [are].

Go to Theme settings and change it to classic...
I neglected to mention, though I don't think I really need to, that game mods are generally free and that I would GLADLY have paid for many that I have used.
Even basic modding I have done myself (adjustments to certain values rather than modding really) I would have been happy to pay nickels and dimes for someone else to do.
You DO have the choice, just go to theme settings and you can adjust Font, Brightness (even in to the negatives, -1, -2, -3, -4, -5) which adjusts background brightness and affects visibility of XMB text and menus. You can also change the XMB default "wave effect" back to classic, i.e. no sparkles.
Couldn't hurt to hire some actual gamers though...
@Poopface the 2nd -
Oh yeah, "placed" fire effects are pretty static and poor to see and I admit that the flamethrower effects aren't that "spectacular" to see like from a movie or something (Aliens) but just from a TECHNICAL aspect it is pretty advanced stuff. Personally, I would have preferred a slightly dumbed down flamethrower in favor of a more spectacular version.
Maybe they'll achieve both in the sequel.

Two things:
But first off, I was a PC gamer long before I was "serious" console gamer and that means I am particularly well acquainted with Valve's work and their engine.
My first point falls on an aspect NOT so common in the console world (though it continues to expand with games like LBP, Mod nation Racers, et cetera) which is Modding. I have seen mods with TEN TIMES the content, ten times the graphical prowess and (a personal ...
Smokey bear eats raw meat...
Smokey bear is afraid of fire and doesn't want his prey (you) using it against him...
Smokey bear IS RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!
Smokey bear never had shrimp scampi slow-simmered on a low flame from Joe's Crab Shack...
I agree that Killzone 2 had the technically most advanced fire effects for consoles, i.e dynamic lighting on ALL objects including individuals that are on fire and the surroundings, this included proper "movement" of the fire depending on wind or if a person was moving while on fire, you know, running around and so on.
Far Cry 2 wins it for me, it was semi-dynamic, very realistic looking most of the time and fun to use/see.
Game should never have been more than 29.99 to begin with... same goes for L4D1
Yeah the animals are great, but EVERYTHING else is uglyer an eshit; but the game is mostly about the wildlife anyway; so most grass textures are eshit) and so on.
If you love da an-e-mals, then wait for the US release.
Where the hell was this?! I didn't see any mention of this deal on N4G...
N4G newsies are slipping up a bit..
All I know is, beyond the hardware hurdles, I can never get a fluid experience out of ANY game in remote play even when I'm in the same room as my PS3.
Creating a Jap account is worth it, there are SO many things there we never get over here, I'm sure you'll find some other use for it eventually and it's just a one time deal.
Was the game footage lower resolution than the video of the interviews or was it just the site? Every time they showed the game the car was all fuzzy, but I've seen plenty of other footage that was clear and all the people in the video are crystal clear...
Did it look odd to anyone else?
