... texture resolution and screen resolution are ENTIRELY different things and I'm no tech-guru, but there you go; I'm not disagreeing with the fact that environmental textures and so on are low-res in the game, but sub-HD usually refers to the screen resolution being somewhat lower than the 720p mark, i.e. higher than 480i which is the standard definition benchmark (anything higher is TECHNICALLY considered HD even 480p or some other obscure screen resolution), but not quite 720p. <...
This is why exclusives matter, at least somewhat; if multiplat devs don't give a damn, then it's the exclusive devs everyone has to fall back on.

It does bring into question the justification for purchasing any HD television when your game can BARELY call itself high definition.. Obviously there are plenty of other games and movies that justify the purchase, but it's just sort of sad to see a once reputable developer give the shaft to so many gamers that supported the previous games.

Haven't played UC2 in a while and I do like the look of Alan Wake and figured it might outdo UC2 a bit, but now that I look at UC2 again, it's just on another level altogether.
Alan Wake has an outstanding lighting system, a lot of the animations are great and the camera work is top notch (Gears of War to me was 20 percent sound, 50 percent graphics and 30 percent neat camera "movement" FYI), but UC2 does so much more. That being said, it's the first ite...
It's like they do this every time they start a new DBZ game, they include some fatal flaw in the game mechanic or fighter roster (such as a very small one) JUST so they can remedy it in the next iteration giving them a reason to release a sequel and charge everyone full price for a few improvements, albeit "necessary" ones.

360 isn't showing any signs of going any place any time soon, though, the advent of new peripherals, e.g. Natal, does bring to mind the fall of the Genesis back in the day; none of those attachments and add-ons saved it in the end.

Basing your opinion of a game on the merits of its demo alone, especially one that includes none of the spectacular elements of the full game, i.e. insane boss battles and larger than life levels and enemies, is ridiculous.
If GOW III was nothing more than what is contained in the demo then it would be somewhat accurate to call it over-hyped, but what we all DID see in the demo demonstrated what may be in store for us in terms of the quality of the rest of the game.
