Played both on the PC, and it's nothing special there either... but considering the lack of real sci-fi space adventure games of late, it does garner a few points for being one of a few in what was a dying breed of games.
ME2 is REALLY overrated...
The whole planetary exploration aspect, which was pathetic in the first ME has simply been canned and replaced with a minigame-like feature which cries "we don't want to deal with this, or really improve it, so we'll scrap real exploration components of the game and throw in this little point and click crap," not exactly game of the year kinds of decisions to me.
The third ME, I really hope will reintroduce the exp...

Problems with story or plot holes are one thing...
But there isn't much of an argument here for it NOT being a "game" was the definition goes. There are plenty of games where you cannot "lose," or "die" in the typical sense. What's the point really anyway, just so people can start back a few paces at a checkpoint?! That makes a whole lot of sense... Other flaws in the analysis as well, too many to mention. Can't wait to see what these devs do next gen.... it'll be unreal because this is just drop dead gorgeous.
It's not wrong, just silly if the technical achievements of the game are not appreciated... that's about it.

The DLC for Black Ops (AKA piece of rancid garbage) will be EXCLUDED from the PS3 console for reasons unknown... oh yeah, a paycheck... fuq PS3 users I guess, not that I bought it for PS3 anyway. PC version is crappy too.

In case anyone is confused by the percentages being thrown around regarding the PS3 let me clear it up for you:
The PS3 is capable of infinite percentageses...es... so nobody will ever utilize all of em... except for maybe Mark
I don't think there's a conspiracy, just crappy developers, and preference for a console, on part of Activision, where the game sells better.
So on PS3 they diminished texture resolution and screen resolution as well as almost everything else compared with the Xbox version and they STILL couldn't get it to run steadily.

I had no idea all the troubles at Infinity Ward had affected this game so much; so what game engine did they end up using, the crappy World at War one? I thought the smoke and explosions seemed familiarly crappy too, but since it was a more modern game I figured they would just utilize IW's engine...
Never buying another Treyarch game, it's official. Disappointed with Call of Duty 3, World at War and now Black Ops... truly pathetic.

Neat... but going to those lengths to achieve it is what's pathetic. If you can't do it on a map you haven't scrutinized to such a degree against good players then it means nothing more than a lot of time was spent on something which amounts to the simple fact that repetition, luck and poor game design will inevitably produce these results.
It's a game combined with an animation studio... so it's a game about a killer that murders people... through computer generated animated characters?
How many games actually touch on characters' sexual preferences anyway?
