do you already have a somewhat modern desktop with a quad core cpu and 8 gb ram? pretty much everyone I know does, even my grandma
if so all you really need to run a game like titanfall or any other "next gen" ps4 or xbox1 game in 1440p is a solid gpu

the xbox1 version will likely be sub-1080p with maybe a single pass of msaa anti aliasing
the pc version can be 1080p, 1200p, 1400p, 1440p, 1600p, eyefinity, 4k
also the shader effects, anti aliasing, filtering, depth of field, post processing, radial blur, hdr, bloom, soft shadowing etc. will all be present on the pc and in higher amounts if the above are all included in the xbox1 verison it will be suprising

and this is them gimping the pc version down to the same puke inducing 720p of the ps3 version
playing it in 2560x1600 it craps on every ps4 game, literally
besides killzone and ryse there is nothing even remotely interesting on either console at launch that cannot be played with much better visuals, smoother performance and had for a cheaper price on pc
and killzone or ryse are certainly not even close to good enough to get me spending hundreds of dollars and THOUSANDS over the course of the system in over priced games, online fees and lame and unnecessary accessories

there are TONS of awesome little rpg's on the iphone with more depth than 95% of the 3ds and vitas libraries combined
and they cost around $.99-$1.99 and have 20-50 hours of gameplay each

just like there is ZERO reason or need for a 1080p tv for the ps3 or 360 since 99% of the games are all 720p or less (diablo 3 is 576p on ps3 and 360....lulz)
there is ZERO reason for any tv higher than 1080p for ps4 xbox1
99% of the games will be 1080p or less (many of them will be MUCH LESS than 1080p)
honestly you would be fine with 720p again next gen, most AAA ps4 and xbox1 games will NOT even be native 1080p
