BAH!!!! I LIKE PEPSI AND I HATE COKE SO DON'T WRITE ARTICLES ABOUT HOW COKE IS GOOD CAUSE YOU'RE WRONG!!!!
lol,
using your own limited view to try to define everyone else's experiences are/should be is the lowest form of stupidity.
Tell ya what, PS360s, before you go out and waste 50 bucks, just go buy an HDDVD and try, just TRY to play it in one of the DVD players in your house.
you do realize that the dvd drive in your 360 upconverts dvds already, right?
I disagree
There are a few reasons why Digital Downloads will not be mainstream for at least 2 more generations (blu-ray included in that, then maybe holo-disk)
1. Bandwidth concerns
2. Format Types (until 1 standard format that can be played in multiple players, without hastle, update, etc.)
3. Consumer confidence in non-physical media. Consumers will not download movies if they cannot take from Player to Player in house or to other houses and Players.

People are probably disagreeing because a SHORTAGE is different then HIGH DEMAND and selling out. Saying that you can't find whatever console anywhere is an example of a shortage. MS admits as much.
The problem comes in when you (the consumer) views the shortage as high demand. And this is not necessarily the case.
For example:
If a store gets in a box of systems (lets say 10) this week. If they're next shipment is next week, and they sell all 10 consoles i...
1. Most of the articles you see about 360 outselling PS3 are based on AMERICAN sales numbers (yes there are other countries that buy and play videogames). Not international. Overall PS3 outsold 360.
2. i believe it was Q2 last year that Sony adjusted HOW they count consoles. They have since adjusted to count retail sales, not units shipped
I know it's not accurate, but Amazon's Hype meter reflects the orders they have gotten for a particular console. Right now,
54% of their orders have been for the PS3,
compared to
46% for the X-box 360
It doesn't mean anything, but it's just a gauge, and I think it shows it will be closer than you think and one system won't "own" another, exclusives or not.

But Halo, and any other shooter teach you violence and gun handling?
It IS blu-ray exclusive, meaning it will not be out on HD-DVD. Do not mistake that for downloadable HD content. It is the same as buying and downloading an HD version of a movie from blockbuster or amazon.
what about folding@home ? but I guess that doesn't count.
.
and that would be?
Probably has more to do with uniformed people seeing "DVD" in the HD-DVD
Been to Best Buy and have actually heard people say, "My DVD player should play hd-dvd, i just bought it a month ago." And they buy it and bring it back because they don't realize the difference in the formats, they just see the name (which is actually something the HD camp was banking on, name familiarity)
while i understand the point you are trying to make there, your argument doesn't hold up, because of the disparity between the install bases.
More people have 360, so of course more 360 games are going to be in the list.
true, but you have to remember that they are in competition with wal-mart, target, toys-r-us, and amazon to name a few.
There are a few ways to win over customers that might go elsewhere.
1. knowledgable staff that's friendly and informative, not pushy
2. better prices on trade ins, or even a better policy for trade ins (even giving more money for a game sold back in the same week)
3. better prices on used games.
Customer loyalty is ...
maybe replacing a defective unit counts as a unit "sold" but not how many units on market?
I don't know, just speculating.
"they did not sell"
you act as if they have been pulled from the market. Maybe they don't sell like Halo, (big bang, then decline) but, imo, it's not right to call a game a "bust" until it's been on the market for a year, or at LEAST through the holidays.
resistance IS going to have rumble when the controllers are released. But if you think a Game lacks because of a stupid feature like that, which has no bearing on the actual game, you need to need to wake up.
But you know what's coming back?
Vinyl
guess what, there will ALWAYS be a physical format.
