The only real reason for these types of rpgs to include level scaling is to get you to spend more time playing.

Really...can't 5hink of a single game, other than battlefield, trying to compete with CoD.
If I recall....didn't battlefield outshine cod a few years ago. Rare instance but it did happen. Public perception but maybe not sales wise.
Imagine if more games actually tried to compete vs CoD.
