Well yes that would work but people enjoy progression. Whether its towards new weapon skins or new outfits etc. Remove the online store to purchase additional content and things are good. No purchasable content is more fair than simply giving everyone everything regardless of effort. That game would die quite quickly. Would have to an extremely compelling game to survive.
A better way is simple. Some progression while not actively playing would help those that don't have the time. It would still be fair since even those that play a lot will have moments of inactivity which they would still be rewarded for.
Let's not pretend here that companies don't know how to find way to deal with the problem. Monetization is the only resolution they want.
Absolutely.
Could they??? So the concern is well placed then.
Yeah you're right. No way games could possibly be monetized with a card system. Pfff
Played them all. Im not saying the games on the list dont have good lore...I just think hollow knight had more lore that is hidden but present and more easily explored and accessed. The souls games have tremendous lore but theyre mostly hidden and stay that way unless you look for it and research it. The lore is not very accessible.
Derivative? You mean like making halo an open world? Essentially adding in chore mechanics. Just like in crackdown 3...the whole game being a boring chore.
But no. Sony is involved in the projects and handling of their studios. Unlike MS that says specifically that they wont meddle in their affairs.
Yes in lore. Easily missed... absolutely. Never played a game that had me loving the world and lore behind it as much as that one. Most of course wouldn't be able to experience it since it is a more difficult game.
Funny since it's a game that's been in development for a very long time before it belonged to Xbox. Xbox had nothing to do with this one.
Better AI and they can look at games like dying light.
A mixture of enemies to make the combat more engaging. Like a wizard casting spells, an archer and a warrior or 2. You can run to silence the wizard and then positioning would help against the archer and 2 warriors. Special attacks with weapons would also help crowd control
Hollow knight surpasses these.
Couldn't finish the first but would definitely dive into the second. Some mechanics were clunky for me which prevented me from fully enjoying it.
I agree with you but that's not the correct thinking. Anything open world must be worshipped.
Should be called Xbox "bought" studios.
They keep saying the studios will act independently too....which means they won't intervene....that's a good thing but begs the question why Xbox is in the picture at all.
Still waiting....oh that's Ms tagline
The upgrade path dude. But even so...$100 is still cheaper than gamepass.
Game..pass
This ai should get out more
True. The action appeal is strong but stat based will be the only way to smoothen out the 1 v X issue that it currently has. Unless of course they completely revamp the combat system.
What j would do is add special moveset for the different play styles that all have some crowd control options. Magic should have dazing and blinding spells that actually work well and are feasible to use in combat to help you tackle groups of enemies better.
Swords and shi...
Sony's isn't putting any cash into the "fight"
