I'm not so sure that Square Enix is willing to ditch their Crystal Tools engine, which they spent a lot of time and money to develop specifically for HD Final Fantasy games, in favor of the Wii. It just seems counterproductive. However, I do think that the Wii will get its own spin-off of the main FF series.
The trailers were great. The thing that gave me goosebumps was reading the past projects of the people working on Versus; lots of FFVII, FFVIII and Kingdom Hearts vets!
This movie is doomed.
Yeah, I've much contemplated RE4's controls and as much as I would like to run and shoot; I think it would drastically change the gameplay and it wouldn't be RE anymore. However, I so hope you can at least move and reload at the same time in RE5!
What's surprising is that Fallout 3 won best RPG, but then Fable II won Game of the Year. What category is Fable II in again? I mean, it was already beaten by Fallout 3 in its own category wasn't it? Anyways, everyone has their opinion and congratulations to Fable II.
Well, Monster Hunter is really only popular in Japan. A PSP version sounds imminent. Moreover, I doubt there will be a version for the HD consoles since they'll be essentially creating a whole new game to take advantage of the hardware. But we'll see I guess.
I'm guessing the "T" in "MGST" stands for tease or teaser.
It looks like Metal Gear AC!D to me; for the iPhone perhaps...
i for iPhone and ! for AC!D [i + !]
Well Square Enix really has no choice but to act positive about the 360 in Japan since they've got two games (Last Remnant and Star Ocean) coming out for the system there. If they say negative things about the 360, they'll essentially be shooting themselves in the foot like they've got no confidence in their own games. They don't want to act like they backed the wrong horse now :P.
What have you become? Developing for the 360 is fine but I just wish they would stop doing such half a$$ed jobs. It seems that the games that they've released so far have been rushed jobs instead of putting out quality polished titles. Meaning, it feels like they've already got their money from Microsoft so they don't really care about the quality of the game that gets released and they just put out a rushed game.
If Team Ico releases their game in 2009, I'm hands down going to say that the Team Ico game is the "Game of 2009!" Yes, I have that much faith in them.
Although from a sales perspective, Gran Turismo 5 will beat all of the games mentioned in the article easily.
I had high hopes for this game but alas... I miss Squaresoft! Square Enix just seems to be cutting too many corners with their latest two releases.
Yes, the ending was great. Very funny vid IGN!
Publishers and developers will beg to differ. There's no telling how many copies of a game have been pirated but consider the following. Say about one hundred thousand additional copies of a million+ selling game have been pirated. At about $60 a game, that's about SIX MILLION DOLLARS LOST right there thanks to piracy (assuming all of the pirates didn't buy the official game). That's money out of the pockets of publishers, developers and Microsoft. Don't forget this is a business for publishe...
Wipeout HD says Hi!
Public betas are for Cliffy :).
Yes, but this game was announced back in 2005 before Nintendo bought most of the stock in Monolith Soft in 2007. If they were already working on the game then contractually they can still finish it for whatever system they were working on (i.e. like what happened to Bioware and Mass Effect). I also find it odd that Namco Bandai would still retain 16% of stock in Monolith Soft when Nintendo likes to do its own publishing anyway. Also, during the announcement when Nintendo bought 80% of stock i...
As long as the Namco Bandai RPG has something to do with Xenosaga, I'll be very, very, happy.
Is a system seller with mass appeal no doubt about it. Also as pointed out by AclayPS3, it's one of the most popular video game franchises out there so do not underestimate its selling power. Hell, the Gran Turismo brand itself is a household name among the automobile/racing industries. Anyways, I myself am a GT fan as well and I'm looking to GT5. This is good news to hear that it'll be hitting earlier than 2010.
I've noticed all the PS3 hate (hard to not notice it actually), but everyone's number one concern about the PS3 is the price. It's pretty obvious Sony needs to cut the price to stay competitive in this economy, and I believe that they will. Lets not forget that Sony and Toshiba will begin manufacturing the 45 nm Cell Processors in 2009, so Sony can afford the price cut.
