I wouldn't say it doesn't matter in the west, but JRPGs are a dying breed indeed. I'm actually expecting Mass Effect 2 to sell better on 360 in the west than FFXIII. But only time will tell.

I don't like Wada personally from this response. It sounds like he wants to turn Square Enix into Activision. Guitar Hero anyone?

"Given that the Crystal Tools engine is specifically designed for these types of tasks (porting between systems), the localisation will go hand in hand with the porting process, meaning no delay."

Unless you work for Square Enix and have actually used Square's Crystal Tools engine, that's a great deal of speculation you've got there. Obviously, I would like the localization to happen as quickly as possible (Hell, I personally prefer to have Japanese voice overs with Eng...

Well you can't really blame Microsoft for trying. We all know how one sided multiplatform sales usually are in Japan. But at least their mascot in the ad is better than this one:

Looking at the pic that shows players scaling walls in multiplayer adds a nice "Uncharted" touch to multiplayer.

Quirky fact is that Bioshock ran on a modified version of Unreal Engine 2.5 not Unreal Engine 3.

P.S. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this turns out to be a "good" Batman game.

Valkyria Chronicles back in the charts at #25.

I'm going to save my excitement until I see some gameplay.

Isn't this the same day as Sony's E3 2009 press conference. Coincidence?

My guess is that they'll announce a NA version of FFVII for PSN like they did recently in Japan, as well as mention this movie of course.

They picked an awesome city this time around.

It's been shown that the "Only on Xbox 360" sticker is temporary. This game will definitely hit NA, especially since most of the localization is already done from the 360 version.

Square Enix seems too busy working on FFXIII and FFvsXIII at the moment. Furthermore, this also seems implausible since the Kingdom Hearts team is working on FFvsXIII, so I have no idea who'd SE assign KH3 to. Personally, I'd want the original KH team working on KH3.

The RPG is probably Tales of Vesperia unless its some totally new RPG. If it is the latter then I have my fingers crossed for a brand new Xeno IP (although highly unlikely), and I don't care who the developer is.

I want to see Sony put their entire PS1 and PS2 libraries on this "PS Cloud" as a start (i.e. you don't have to start with HD games right away, test the service with this).

Yes, that would be nice in the final product, but that was just a work in progress demo. Although, it would be nice if games had all of their effects and polish put in months before the final game is released, wouldn't it?

Anyways, I still think the game looks pretty damn good for where it is right now. I'm sure that the final product will look even better to say the least.

Break gauge and all. The time cost system is rather similar to the EN cost system in the mech battles in Xenosaga Episode III, and the break gauge seems like a hybrid of Xenosaga Episode II and III. Where it copies the gauge from Episode III and the part where you can knock the enemy in the air (or down the enemy as well in Xenosaga) when you break them is ripped straight off of Episode II (although this was not fun in Episode II). However, the part of how each time gauge fills up individuall...

That's because the trailer is censored! Watch the 2:02 to 2:03 mark. You can see that guy gets his left leg chopped off (his knee cap down is missing) and they didn't manage to censor it completely, since there's a pool of blood (they were supposed to censor all the blood out of the trailer) where the limb was supposed to be.

However, reading your little theory was entertaining to say the least.

That just seems like an empty statement by Microsoft. Just look at Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which never even made it to the top ten in February's NPD. That means it sold less than 136,000 units (#10 Guitar Hero World Tour (Wii)) compared to the 166,000 it sold in its first week in Japan. Now what boggles the mind is that this well established Square-Enix IP couldn't even sell more copies in the US despite having at least a 14 TIMES BIGGER INSTALL BASE, and that's just sad. So you've just go...

I'd faint if they announced a new Xenosaga game or new a Xeno series of games. Although that possibility seems highly unlikely.

Great list. Good to see Xenosaga Episode III getting some recognition.
