Because they have nothing exciting enough to show at the biggest gaming event of the year. Sony will be full of exciting news we don;t have yet, MS will be full of exciting news we don't know yet and there's going to be a crapload of 3rd party devs showcasing their latest and greatest software on hardware that's more than capable of showing it off.

"most anticipated game"? I'm not sure that I'd agree with that assessment. One of yes, but the most? I'm sure there are others that are more highly sought after. Games like Watchdogs would probably be more intriguing to people because it's not more of the same old same old. it's unique and I think that's what gamers crave right now.

What do they expect when they basically kept so much of the system the same as it's predecessor. It was just a matter of time and quite frankly, I'm surprised it took this long.
A buddy of mine is working on some of the quests for this game and he says it's possibly the single greatest thing Ubisoft has ever created. He's pretty damn sure that this one is going to hit game of the year at the top of most everyone's list. From what I've seen so far, he's probably right.
games looks too plain jane, the games were unnecessarily over priced due to being on cartridges, the system itself was over priced, the controller was horrendous, selection of games was, for the first time in Nintendo history garbage.

I agree and yes I think E3 might be losing some of it's sheen that made it so exciting for consoles to be announced at. Now the trend seems to be holding private events so as to enjoy the spotlight on their own without the competitors buzz in the halls outside the announcement doors.

I love Nintendo. My first ever console was the NES and I got it for my 11th (or maybe my 10th)Birthday. The greatest day of my life but goddamn they have screwed up so much in my eyes over the last number of systems. Loved NES, SNES, hated N64, Loved Gamecube, had some fun with the Wii and have enjoyed the WiiU to a lesser degree if for no reason other than I can play a game when I'm on the can.

Yes they need to show the system, the need to show the interface, they need to show what games look like and they need to show off some EXCLUSIVE software running on said hardware.
It's far from too late. it all comes down to software and performance of that software on the hardware. way too early to make that claim dude.
hard to say for sure but the small amount we've seen in the screenshots, I'd say the chances are pretty good it could happen.
a friend of mine worked on this game....he's been talking about it in such a negative fashion for the past year for a whole bunch of reasons. He was so excited about it too. Apparently it's a simple case of too many cooks in the kitchen over the direction and implementation of the game and some of it's mechanics. Digital Extremes is cutting back it's staff very heavily

well played porkins. The comics were much gritty in appearance and feel and these turtles look much truer to the form that Eastman and Laird had for them lo so many moons ago.
Looks like it could be a real good platformer. Might be great for some quick action but I bet replayability is in the dumps.
