It cant be true, mainly because Sony is was only making about $14 per console they sold. That's at $299, costs haven't come down enough to take that kind of loss, especially when your already losing almost 1 billion a year on something.
There is a huge difference between Blue-Ray and 3-D. Everyone can enjoy Blue Ray and high definition. It's a very small market that is going to want to wear glasses to watch Television, play games and watch movies. I for one will never want to do that. It's just the way I feel. I don't watch movies in 3-D and I wont game in 3-D. I am just not a fan. I don't see Parents, grandparents and teenagers being able to get into something like this. It's a fad, like past 3-D. Even i...
If Microsoft comes out with a slim 360, bundles Natal with it for $250 or $299, shows some solid first party games, then it's a wrap as far as I'm concerned. I already want Natal and a slim. I want some surprises too, Killer Instinct 3, Ninja Gaiden, Dead OR Alive, Lost Odyssey 2 etc... Keep it simple.
3-D is going to fail, no matter how much Sony tries to push it. I don't see many parents, grandparents, people outside of the USA buying into a clear fad. Unlike the gimmick that is the Wii, 3-D is expensive. I refuse to wear glasses to enjoy a movie, game or television. I think the majority will do the same. It's a stopgap tactic and a poor one at that. 3-D has come and gone in one way or another and this is no different. Expensive, fad, gimmick, failure.
This is probably preparation for them charging for their online service. Whatever they do, they need to fix the horrid voice chat system. Everyone sounds like the Burger King Drive through guy. Most of the time I just agree to whatever someone is saying, when honestly I have no clue what is being said. It's a real shame when the PS2 had better voice chat then PS3.
Great stuff. Halo Reach is going to be the biggest game released this year and I'm excited for it! As for the 3-D stuff, it's a fail. I will never wear glasses in my house to enjoy a movie, television or video game. The majority of people in the world will say the same thing. 20+% actually cant wear the glasses.
Of course this 3-D stuff isn't just a Sony thing, though they would like to make everyone think it is. Gears 2 was shown in 3-D years ago at E3. Sony is just tryin...
Alan Wake was amazing. A must own title for 360 owners! Not sure why there is negative comments towards it. I haven't heard anyone that actually played it complain. The graphics, story, textures, lighting are all amazing.
MP games sell better, people want more out of a $60 game then a playthrough or two. Sometimes they even buy add on's, so the games cost even more. So I say through in some cheap online and get a few more buyers. It worked with Uncharted 2 and probably Assassins Creed. Was Uncharted 2's online any good? Nope, it was lame. But people could at least feel like they weren't cheated.
This is great news. Means that Shenmue and Jet Grind are probably happening too. XBL is awesome!
But the Move isn't gonna have party games...it's hardcore! I mean it's supposed to be the opposite of the Wii right? What happened? Well at least my family and I can play it together for less then Natal...what's that? I'll need to actually spend more on it then Natal ? Wow.....No wonder Sony is in last place and losing money and trying to rip off the Wii and giving away games on the PSP Fail.....
We all know what Sony has up it's sleeve. Move, Move and more Move. Nintendo has hardware to show off. Microsoft has two shows though, one for Natal and one for games and things like that, probable Slim 360 etc...
At every Gamestop I've been to in Florida it's all heavy pro 360 employees and people. I remember the midnight MW2 launch and there were about 300 people there, 99% were for the 360 version. I think serious gamers tend to go with the 360 and more casual gamers who play offline go with the PS3. It's just my opinion.
It's looking super sexy! I cant wait! It's not even bigger then the hook up for the PS3's Move, less expensive too, if you take into account you'll need more then one controller to play in the same house or whatever. If you use a USB headset on the PS3 and use the "Move" now that's a real "robot" add on look. Looking like Frankenstein or something..lol ugly too.
Last place console, desperation motion control device on the horizon, failed PSP GO now throwing games at people for free.......How does Sony do it?
Even if Natal is $149 and Move is $99, if you want more then one person to play Move you need more Controllers. So add it up. It's actually going to be more expensive for Move and all you can do with Move is stupid video games. Natal at least offers some nice Voice recognition tech, scan ability, AI abilities and no second, third, forth controllers needed. If the Ipad can sell 2 million units at $500 each, then surly a new gaming technology will do so. It's a first day purchase for me...
MGS4 wasn't anything brilliant to be honest. I was more impressed with the differences between MGS2 and MGS3 to be honest. All this "Max out" garbage is just hype and BS for the most part.
Change can be good. With Natal and a slim 360 and the Re-Brand launch of the XBox 360 I can see them infusing some new blood into the company. Focus on games a bit more and good things will happen.
As long as the quality doesn't stop I'm gonna go along for the ride1.
As for the guy above me, where I live here in Florida, there are little to no Xbox 360's and absolutely NO ARCADES to be found, while we have an abundance of PS3's, we even have some of those fat P...
Not sure why people are against $149, everyone can play in the same house with Natal for that same price, where as if you want to play Move or the Wii you need extra controllers for each person that is going to play. Move could end up costing north of $200 for a family of 3 or 4 people, that's just in controllers!
Also, this is all speculation at this point, Microsoft is probably setting up Natal to work this generation and next for their consoles. So getting a loss in o...
Not a terrible list, but Killzone 3 isn't #1 by any means. The first one was terrible and the second one, despite the hype machine sold poorly and didn't bring anything new or exciting to the table.
Fable 3, Halo Reach, Gears 3, Batman AA 2, COD Black Ops, Zelda and Star Wars Battlefront 3 would be great.
