Sold. Loved the first one.
Uh...no.
Lair and Haze were overhyped, to be sure...and both failed miserably in living up to expectations.
But Ratchet is an excellent action-platformer...
Uncharted is a first-rate adventure title...
Heavenly Sword was too short, to be certain, but is still a decent title...
And MGS4 represents the pinnacle of a great series...
And I don't own a PS3. I own a 360.
But I'm a gamer first, and good games...
Because it's something fairly different. It's not another generic shooter or hack n' slash, and offers the chance to be creative, rather than merely destructive.
And Sackboy could be Sony's defining mascot for this gen...like Ratchet or Kratos before him.
I'd say that '07 and '08 are about equal, when you consider it:
Last fall, the 360 had the killer lineup, with the PS3 showcasing a solid batch of games.
This fall, it's reversed.
What will '09 bring?
If it's nearly as good as the last two years, we're going to be SPOILED as gamers.
Sold...on all four.
But I have a question: Which kidney do I sell to pay for all the gaming goodness coming out this fall?
And, strange as it sounds, add Viva Pinata 2 to my list. I really enjoyed the first one.
3.8 GB?
I can think of better uses than that for that much HD space.
I mean, 3.8 GB of John Tesh music would be better than installing and playing this game.
And that's saying something.
Palin has that sexy MILF thing going on...
...but I'm still voting for Ron Paul. Even if I have to write him in.
More multiplayer os great, but how about some more campaign (side missions/expanded missions)?
My campus was COVERED in them.
Jocks would sometimes chase them with deodorant.
Most of them ended up flunking out because they never actually attended class...they were too hip, you see...
I think I've found HIS type of person:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
8 gold medals...
Endorsements out the wazoo...
Hosting SNL...
AND he gets CoD5 early.
I'm in the wrong business.
*droooooool*
IGN's reviews are among the ones that I trust the most, but I'm going to wait for more opinions from other sites before passing final judgment.
One review isn't everything. Still, I'm disappointed in that 7.1. Hope it's not a sign of things to come.
I agree...I've enjoyed the original, and I think it could be a solid franchise. I'm certainly looking forward to another BD game.
But Yu-Gi-Oh level of popularity? Probably not.
Sorry, my good man, but the 360 Pro and Elite both come with headsets, and have since they launched. But the Core/Arcade edition does not.
Pretty good article...reminds us that no consoles are perfect, no matter how much the fanboys like to pretend they are.
There's always room for improvement.
Now, if both MS and Sony would read that list and actually follow some of its suggestions...
Panzer Dragoon would ROCK. And I loved ToeJam and Earl.
Titles like this (and Braid) would be far more welcome on the Marketplace than the occasional arcade retread.
The disagree probably came from the fact that you're off-topic here.
It would be no different if the article was about PSN's Fall games, and someone brought up Gears 2.
BTW, I'm NOT your disagree.
I only have money for one RPG, and that will be Infinite Undiscovery...
...but this will merit a look down the road.
Quality JRPGs on an Xbox...whouda thunk it? :)
Great to see so many good RPGs coming to the 360...next to shooters, that's my favorite genre.
I'm going to disagree with his assessment of exclusives...I think Sony has the stronger lineup this fall, although the 360's total game selection to date is much stronger.
That said, price may very well be a factor. In a struggling economy, people may see more value in the cheaper 360 and the Wii.
But with more people buying HDTVs, Blu-Ray may become a factor, as well. That would give the PS3 an edge.
We'll see. Very interesting holiday season shaping up...
