I could care less about them...I mean, I've tweaked mine a few times for different looks, but otherwise, I ignore it.
But other NXE features like game installations, party chat, and Netflix I've embraced WHOLEHEARTEDLY. They ROCK.
Mix it up a little more. I enjoyed the original, but it was very repetitive, not to mention GLITCHY. Fix those things and I'll buy it.
Good points, DJ. Agree + bubbles. (Remember when we used to spar over 360 and PS3?)
Get back to me when the Wii has the impressive library of games that the PS2 does.
The system is a huge seller, and it's brought gaming to the masses more than any other console, but it's got a looooong way to go before beating the PS2.
The Wii will need at least a seven-or-eight year life cycle before reaching the PS2's level, and I think Nintendo will roll out a Wii 2 by 2011 or so...so the Wii's overall lifespan may be relatively short.
We'll see.
Good news, indeed.
Now if only Nintendo could end war, poverty, hunger...
This is an Amazon sale, not a MS price cut. It has NOTHING to do with the console war.
That said, I would welcome Live for $30/year...or less.
Mass Effect is still one of my favorite 360 games. Share the wealth, I say (assuming it's true).
(Now could we get Uncharted on the 360...?) :) :) :)
@Disagrees:
Folks, I'm JOKING. Hence the smileys. I know that's one title that's staying put. Can't a guy appreciate a title on another system?
As for the pre-order "evidence:" I work for Best Buy, and ANY pre-orders, REGARDLESS of how new or old, are listed in the company's RSS system.
I did a through search for the presell card, using all possible categories and spellings. Here's what I found:
The 360 version of the game (there were NO preorders for L4D for 360)
The PC version of the game (again, NO presells)
The strategy guide
AND THAT'S IT.
NO...
Answer to DrzLeX and The Kills:
"However, the company reported it wasn't changing its Circuit City Advantage Protection Plan. The plans have been backed by third-party independent companies for more than 15 years and will not be impacted by Circuit City’s liquidation."
From the official press release. So those who bought warranties won't be out of luck.
Mmmm...pie.
Damn shame. I honestly feel sorry for all those people (35,000+) that will find themselves unemployed shortly.
I work for Best Buy, and competition with them helped keep us on our toes.
There will be some good clearance sales...I plan on watching for deals on 360 games.
Fable 2 loads twice as fast.
Gears 2 runs without a stutter, as does Bioshock.
And my system's so quiet now, I don't even know it's on.
Yes, it's worth it.
Does it kill the illusion of Renaissance-era technology?
Maybe.
Will it be fun to blast enemies with it?
Oh, hell yes.
Amen, bro!
Wish more people thought that way (*cough cough fanboys cough cough*)
Agree + bubbles.
Nothing wrong with appreciating a great game, even if it's on another system.
I plan on having a TON of fun with KZ2 on my friend's PS3. He's going to join me for some Gears 2.
Win/win.
They look the same.
So no need for any fanboy pissing contests.
Really?
Prove it.
Looks to me like some small Swedish newspaper or magazine article.
It's probably a case of someone trying to draw attention to themselves with a (likely) fake review, rather than one of those oft-cited (and usually ephemeral) MS payoffs.
MS can't--and doesn't--"pay off" every reviewer. If they did, explain all those well-deserved 10/10s that LBP and MGS4 got.
@Spacetoilet
No, that was a 360 FANBOY.
He doesn't represent all of us.
He doesn't represent humanity very well, either.
Everyone chill...it's ONE review, and possibly not legitimate, at that.
I'm more concerned about a release date. Give us that and Alan Wake this year and the 360's '09 lineup improves quite a bit.
