It opens tonight! I can't wait to try the 8-Bit Pale Ale.

Civ 5 would be impossible to run on the 360. It just wouldn't work. That's why civrev exists, and isn't a numbered entry in the franchise. Civ Rev is awesome with the disclaimer (for a console civ).

Sounds like some nice MP additions. I can't wait for a new episode, though. Like The Lost and Damned.

I see too many half-ass multiplayer modes. I say if you are going to do it, you better do it right. Don't just throw it in as an afterthought.

I don't see a problem with used-game owners paying a premium to publishers to help maintain the online servers they use while playing the game. If you don't play online, don't pay the fee. No harm no foul.

And if paying for DLC is such a problem, just wait for the GOTY edition to come out and buy that.

I don't see a crash at all. If anything all the niches and genres and franchises are just coming more aligned with movies and books. Any fina...

Personally, I think limited editions and specially-branded consoles are gimicky ripoffs. Just don't buy them.

You guys are getting hosed in Oz, though. In the US a new game costs about $65 with tax.

As broadband increases, I see services like Onlive becoming more prominent, gaming in the cloud.

And on xbox live, there are plenty of cheaper options.

But I remain skeptical that all publishers are bleeding tens of million...

Hydro Thunder is a classic. I remember pod racer too. I bought it the day it came out, right after I saw phantom menace.

While it may not be for the core, Kinect is advancing video game technology and that by itself should be reason enough not to hate on it. And while I will never play a game that brings me off the couch entirely, I do imagine the Kinect input can eventually be used to augment the controller.

It certainly is a great game, but the year is but a child. There's plenty of good stuff coming out of the chute.

How does such a well-written and thought out comment make it in the Open Zone?

5865d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's true. When developers spend so much time developing characters and a storyline, they don't want to make a game so difficult that people can't get through it.

Earlier games didn't have stories or characters. The fun was in the challenge. Getting further than you did last time.

I say there needs to be both types of games. I, for one, like games with provocative characters and stories.

While I agree that games, who plays them and how, will change, I don't see this as being a particularly enlightening statement.

It's not so much an end, as a new beginning. It's not like motion controls and family-oriented games are replacing RPGs and FPSs, they're just adding a new fold to the gaming landscape. They're introducing more people to our hobby.

Most of the financial woes publishers have recently faced are more likely correlated with the tanked US econo...

I, too, met this game with skepticism. I generally don't like this genre. And I also dislike many Japanese games.

But Adam Sessler of G4 did a whole "Soapbox" on their web site on how he was really impressed with the game, which will cause me to look at it more objectively.

Am I the only one who was disappointed that KOTOR went MMO. That is supposed to be a question mark but I do not know where the button is on this brazilian keyboard. But I want a new single player KOTOR game!

It's called capitalism. And it works. And we will all end up with better games and service because of it.

Whether Xbox or PS3 delivers those better games and services is irrelevant. They have different online models, may the best one win.

I see no problems here. Other than a prevalent sense of entitlement amidst gamer nation.

The level could have worked. It just wasn't executed properly when you take the entire narrative into account.

Still, nothing should be off limits for gaming. I'm glad they tried. But I'm sad that their attempt was so brief.

A good review should not only comment on the quality of craftsmanship in the game, but should also give the reader enough information to make up their mind if they would like to play the game.

That's why I HATE scoring games. Because a lot of times the focus is on the score and not the content.

Hopefully my review provided that kind of information.

Bottom line, MW2 is genius online, and slightly above average offline. But the online is very good.

If you just put the figurine up on a shelf or something, it shouldn't matter how sturdy or heavy it is. Unless you are playing with it. Then that's funny.

I agree. It's hard to pay extra cash for any collectors edition. But figurines are cool.

I think this is a horrible idea. Modern Warfare doesn't have a coherent story.
