My fault. I thought I fixed it before. Now it's good to go.
Ok, that just feels like a BS AAA move invading the indie scene. While the cosmetics may look pretty cool, are we really supposed to just glance over the fact that this is Day One DLC because it's a free GWG indie title? They're already charging $29.99 (standard), a pretty substantial amount for a small team. Now if the game's good and Snowcastle wants to expand upon it with some DLC expansions, I'm down with throwing some more dough their way.
This just ...
I should clarify that neither was my dad. A deep sea diver's the one that goes down YUGE depths in a metal suit. My dad just did recreational diving back in the day. You can go less than 50 feet in the Florida Keys to find some beautiful reefs, shipwrecks, etc.
"Unfortunately my dad wasn't a deep sea diver..."
You're right. I wasn't one, son. [o_o]~
I hope everyone enjoyed the review. Please feel free to leave any comments and/or questions below. It's nice to get back into the mode of reviewing a game on here. :)
In case you were wondering, the inspiration for my subtitle comes from a Grizzly Bear song of the same name: https://www.youtube.com/wat... While the game goes for a different tone, the early trailers for this game elicited ...
Come to think of it...JD does seem to have an actual neck. :P
Simply changed tastes? I mean...sure the indie garbage part could be interpreted like the way you're talking about; however, the VAST majority of this blog paints Sony as just another corporation in an advantageous marketshare position that's happened time and time again--warts and all. The very fact you're comparing this to some kind of break-up makes me cringe too.
"Why did it take this long for Torment to get mentioned!??"
Because we knew it'd bother you. [o_o]~
I thought that was so cool when I initially heard the news. Those guys are finding ways to get extra income from various sources outside direct customer purchases.
"Same goes for Nier Automata which I'm pretty sure is coming to Xbox One as well."
I don't think that's the case. The future for that one suggests console exclusivity too (PS4/PC).
@kaizokuspy
And I totally believe that's the case for you. Here's the thing: that's just anecdotal. Neither your story nor my story (bought it for $20 on XJuan) is the story for how everyone came about to playing RL. And because italiangamer gave hard numbers to make his argument, I felt compelled to refute it with known stats at my disposable. Suggesting RL wouldn't even have 10% of the sales, users, etc. were it not for PS Plus is simply wrong, and pus...
You're 1000000% sure? Well that doesn't mean it's reality when considering all the other factors in today's age. You bring up RPBC, but just consider the difference in timing between them from then and mid 2015.
-The ever-expanding Let's Play community
-Major reviewers (from Youtube to professional) giving Rocket League such huge praise over its quality
-And other considerations
Just to put this into perspective: Ro...
"Bound isn’t going to be an eSport, and doesn’t really care about that. Nor is Bound for people looking to unwind after a hard day’s work with passive entertainment. There’s nothing wrong with games being either of those things, but Bound is for a third audience; it’s for the people that want something thoughtful, meaningful, and intelligent."
I mean...that's kind of a crappy way to close. Not based on intention, mind you. Matt S. seems really, really genuin...
For 2017, you say? I have a few that come to mind at the moment:
-Tacoma
-Outlast II
-Yooka Laylee
-Cuphead (that's '17 now, right?)
What would be the best way to search for another's account through the site itself? We have the search bar for games & stuff but doesn't seem effective in finding non-contributors.
Almost as if that's been the usual story of the genre for a while now.
@Christopher
Alright, as you know I'll be on vacation soon; so either this comment or next will be my final for this.
1.) Once again: context. I specifically said 'acknowledge,' which not the same as making my hypothetical review now into some history book. As for whether any text (even 1% of total review) of that ought/ought not to be in a review is another debate of it's own. One that I disagree with and look at differently but wh...
The site was shortly on CloudFare after the attack. Someone was legitimately gunning for it just b/c of that review.
@kraenk12
By that same standard, no one here can go after critics for continuous 9/10's or 8/10's for every COD sequel because of "what it is and wants to be," right? If your game feels mechanically similar to hundreds of other survival titles out there that've already released, with very little else of interest for him/her, that reviewer's more than entitled to point that out.
1.) Sounds like a non-issue in this context. You're talking about a guy who's daily life is videogames and the hype has been around this one for quite a long time. If I were to review The Last Guardian (hopefully!), I'd be remiss not to at least acknowledge the development hell it's been through. It's not as though he solely looked through this game through the lens of what it's hyped up to be; it was still assessed by its inherent quality in his eyes, just like an...
I can't recall at the moment. But it's also important to consider the non-Gold XBL members who MAY want to get this title. They're now looking at a pretty meaty $29.99 price AND another 2.99 for a costume extra? If what you said is true about tumblestone, then both are borrowing some pricing schemes from the insidious AAA industry.
