being a musician myself I cringe at this game, buy your kid a real guitar and teach em to make beautiful music.Real music can change the world, guitar hero and rock band just create fatass bums.
well Im more than happy to clarify, I meant "in the bag" in terms of a hardware platform for the future. IMO I think that Western developers have a serious edge on Japanese developers in the creativity department.
This partially due to culture but mostly due to the Japanese consumer who has his particular gaming tastes almost down to a fetish. Give em an RPG based on schoolgirls in ponytails and short-skirts and they won't see daylight for months. This is of course makes it ha...
yup you guys beat me to it, the publisher does indeed have the last word on what platform a game gets PUBLISHED on.
IMO, I think Sony is carrying Microsoft this generation. I wouldn't be surprised if the two haven't already talked and agreed on what percentage of the market MS would be allowed to have. Despite what the fanboys may think this industry does belong to Sony. Anybody who was paying attention saw the look on the face of Peter Moore followed quickly by his now famous comment on the E307 KZ2 trailer " this may be the reason you buy a PS3". Shortly after that he left Microsoft for neutral...
if the PS3 was easy to develop for you would not be seeing anything the likes of killzone this generation. Anyone who has actually read up on the research Ken Kutaragi did in planning for the PS3 will understand that it is not Sony who mandated a complex platform. This is the answer to everyone who wanted to play the CGI cutscenes and trailers they were seeing in their PS2 and Xboxes. People asked and the man delivered. The PS3 came into existence to deliver next generation graphics to the m...
actually this is a bit of a misconception, you have people that push code and you have people that solve problems. The latter ones are the ones that are truly valuable (you can teach a 12 yr old to code). The ones that look at the code and UNDERSTAND what it is doing at the hardware level. Surprisingly alot of programmers were taught just enough to make them proficient at writing code and some basic problem solving. To understand and utilize processing power much less a new architecture like ...
actually Wii maniac both the cell and rsx have access to both pools of memory. It's up to the developer to know which memory to use for what.
on that note Ju I am very interested to see who will be the first developer after GG to use the KZ2 engine. They can recoup their investment in the engine just on the licensing alone. I mean who wouldn't want their game to look as good as KZ2. It seems like a powerful enough engine to handle any of the game parameters out there now.
so tell me again why I should care about those who spectate while others create?
this console race is like professional wrestling and PS3 is a wrestling manager sending his 900lb gorilla (MGS4) and now that he's had his fun it's the 1200lb gorilla's turn to have fun.
lol I've been reading your comments and you're a funny dude. keep it up
man my bot itches, whos got some been gay, I heard it's made especially for itchy bots.
hmmm lets see
PS1 = 110+ million sold
PS2 = 125+ million sold (and counting)
PS3 = 20+ million sold
+_____________________
PSbrand = 255+ million sold
xbox 1 = 24 million sold
xbox360 = "27" million sold
+_____________________
xboxbrand = 51+ million sold
YUP it's not hard to be an absolute moron.
fanboys can disagree all they want but the fact of the matter is MS has been wrong on just about every judgement call they have made this generation.
no HDMI needed? wrong
no 1080p needed? wrong
no next gen storage format needed? wrong
HDDVD? dead wrong
sacrificing hardware quality to be first to market? wrong
betting it all on multiplatform and dlc? WRONG
sigh
once again I fail to see where Microsoft is competing with Sony. IMO they are two very different products that attract buyers from both sides of last generation. The PS3 sets itself apart with its powerful hardware and great selection of first party titles. THIS is where MS needs to focus their efforts if they want to remain a player in this race. In fact they have done the opposite by closing down most of their first party studios. Add that to Peter Moore suddenly leaving f...
anyone that doesn't recognize the sheer magnitude of the accomplishment Sony and guerilla have pulled off doesn't deserve to be called a gamer in any way shape or form.
yeah I kinda did that Scooby Doo "huh" when I read that part, I personally know of two people whose 360 red ringed on them this week.
Wether they are old or new editions of the 360 I don't know but this problem has by no means "been licked".
I agree, this article is fanboy banter trying to pass off as objective and non-biased. Worse yet it inspires to write pure ignorance. I mean how do you call the cell/rsx processing tandem conjecture?? Like it's someone's opinion of what happens? Is the code that's written to create the rendering pipeline between the cell and rsx conjecture too?
The fact of the matter is that grahical power can ABSOLUTELY be argued as it comes from hard numbers and hard science. Some fanboy saying...
overclocked?
They can hardly keep those things stable now, nevermind overclocking them.
sounds to me like MS and more specifically the xbox division are at a loss for how to compete with Sony and the PS3. The Cell Broadband Engine has really thrown them for a loop as it is uncharted waters for the kings of compile and execute.
I usually dont get caught up in all the pre-release videos for a game but DAMN this is one game that just gets better and better the more they show of it. I honestly believe this could be the game-changer for the PS3 just like FF7 was for PS1 (lets not forget metal gear solid), this is the one that will silence even the most biased critic. Of course some will try to slam the game and get laughed off the internet in return.
