WHO CARES what platform Valve develops for. PS3 exclusives have turned multiplatform development into a 4 letter word this generation. Sure you can still deliver quality multiplat experiences (BC2) but as far as pushing the envelope and in turn pushing developers to refine and increase their craft multiplats have become completely IRRELEVANT. PS3 exclusives are the ones delivering shock and awe. I don't see that changing anytime soon and woe...

I don't see myself getting excited for another gears, other than horde mode (which I still play) the sequel was a HUGE dissapointment. The smell from that one hasn't cleared yet and they want to drag the next carcass on the table.

that's pretty much what Im thinking, the other shoot for the stars but Sony is the only with the experience and know-how to get there. Ultimately this will be remembered as Sony having shown the competition how motion control is really done.

Gears 2 delivered a hell of a ride, while UC2 is way too straightforward, with a lot of badly designed levels, and some good looking ones.
Gears2 is awesome from beginning till the end.
