This article is asking a similar, if not the same question as this one: http://n4g.com/news/1287248...
Also you have to factor in the cost of the connection/data plan, because not everybody can afford unlimited broadband. Looking at it from a present-day perspective, games in digital form, on consoles at least, is still a luxury, not an everyday standard.
3rd party solutions will always satisfy the Playstation gamer who is not happy with the DS4.
Do I really care? If I was to pre-order a console, would I look at these sites to spectate on the popularity of the console and possibly cancel my pre-order because it loses a position to its competitors? No, because I would be a freaking idiot to care.
Dishonored is possibly the most underrated game of this gen.
It's not that they have no idea what it is, they had their idea of what it was and unmercifully forced it on interested consumers thereby turning them away. Now they're trying to apologise for it.
All this and T10 can't even use the cloud to make rain.
Is it so hard to make realistically behaving AI? All this talk about increased graphical prowess and more data on game discs next gen and no mention on if developers have used the increased processing power of the new consoles to make a realistic AI algorithm? I would have seriously thought that would be a step in the right direction.
The logic is that, the multiplayer game should be cheaper because of the paid online subscriptions on consoles, that which you don't need in single player.
It makes his point even more moot because Blu-ray discs are scratch-resistant. XD
The Steam Box looks like it will be more expensive than the PS4 and XbOne. Also, required hardware updates is needed to play the newest games. Because of the steam box's customisation capabilities, there is a strong possibility for more fragmentation.
Agreed. They should have requested consumer feedback BEFORE the DRM policies were revealed. The sudden DRM removal will make it very hard for gamers to trust MS in future. Actually, it has always been that way since Kinect was released and the core gamer focus was given the shaft.
Well if they can drop Kinect as a mandatory peripheral, or stock an SKU without it, lowering the price, get rid of the problems that plagued the Xbox 360 (No self-publishing indie games, better 3rd party support, and Xbox Live actually rewarding the gamer for paying for it.) AND add an AV port then they would win me back.

Zodiac I can see that you are a 'new' gamer, and utterly clueless. Single player is what shaped the industry. What use is bragging about multiplayer when your game becomes unplayable after the developers shut the server down a few years after release? Single player will never die, not as long as MS and EA don't monopolise the industry.
Best news I've heard all day.
Here we go again... with MS revealing more of their true colours on how and where they distributed their money with the Xbone. Usually I would think that they would invest more into performance like Sony, but it's clear that MS don't care when throwing this kind of money around.
So you can do offline races too? Day 1 purchase for me, regardless of which version it is :)
Pre order bonuses getting more and more ridiculous.
