What I meant by "rants" was innocuous articles stating the opposite of the actual facts, made by people who don't do research and are just looking for hits.
That seems to be a very defensive statement from Microsoft. Could they be hiding something?
There's no disputing that it is, and why wouldn't it be? Microsoft isn't a hardware company by any stretch of the imagination, and Nintendo isn't ever going to be known for their raw power. I hope that there's no fanboy rants about this.
GT6, nuff said.
So basically it becomes a fee-to-play game?
I would have rather preferred the Argentinean Premier League.
Having it open-ended isn't a good way to go about things either, look at what happened to the NBA Live series when the NBA 2K series rose to prominence.
Better license all the teams or you can take this and shove it.
A rather misleading title, the author must really be trying his hardest to find something negative that Yoshida has said.
OT - I kind of agree with what some of you are saying, the Vita would be great for remote play, but it is a good decision not to make it available as a controller, would be rather unwieldy in my opinion, with those diminutive sticks and all.
So? If the games look astounding, but plays like crap, and has annoying 'features' like microtransactions, adverts in free games, game 'waiting', etc. would you snub a console purchase in favour of a tablet or smartphone?
The figures here don't obviously reflect gamer purchases. Almost all of my friends have high end smartphones, yet not one of them has turned it into a full-blown gaming machine. People need to open their eyes, the only way that people are buying into these types of games, as the article listed (football, racing, survival horror.) is because of their GRAPHICS. Nothing else about the core aspect of the game has changed. They still have the same levels of content as Java games, just with bet...
There's no hating of FPS here (or 3PS) but there is hating the media generalisation that all FPSs must look at CoD as the benchmark.
@ modesign There's a problem with that logic. Competing titles, e.g CoD will theoretically have a massive lead in sales due to it having a lower price to begin with. EA, or any other gaming publisher, wouldn't just 'experiment' with an exorbitant starting price because it would instantly kill off consumer appeal.
You're telling the future how exactly?
Let's just hope they don't implement any DRM or micro transaction crap, that price is already a big ask and if you convert it to the currency of my country...sayonara EA.
Remember the days of the Dreamcast VMU? PS4 developers should definitely go down this route.
"There
are however various
locations spread all over
the planet, both southern
and northern hemispheres." Hoping for the ability to race in South Africa, would be really great to see a city in my home country represented.
Someone might bring the 'not everyone can afford high bandwidth connections' argument in here but let's look at it another way. Instead of asking 'can the gamer handle it?' MS should ask themselves 'can we handle it?' because ultimately they're going to have to be connecting millions of high bandwidth users to their Live servers, and they're going to have to do it nonstop for a very, very long time. Something will have to give.
The only time the console market will start to shrink is when console developers begin to take cues from mobile developers. And that is excesively catering to the casual market. IMO the console market is narrowing because companies can't afford to take risks; look at the Wii U for example, in this economic climate. Console experiences will always be superior to mobile gaming, but only as long as it's done right.
The people of Sony are true gamers at heart. Greed will never exceed passion.
