Probably for the same reason people were excited for Move even though the eye toy bombed on ps2. A lot of people want to give new tech the benefit of the doubt. And, in this case, a lot of people have gone hands on with and say that it does what they promise this time around.
That's N4G for you. I recommend the /r/games subreddit. the community is much better/smarter, and the news comes in sooner. N4G contributors basically just camp reddit for their news anyway.

They could do it just like they do in Saints Row. In the world, you're 2 characters, in the cut scene, you're just your character. It's what makes SR great, and it would only make GTA better.

It depends on what it means. You might have a bank account and a wallet. If that's the case, then i'm fine with it...assuming the bank pays some sort of interest and has a tie-in to "on-line" banking and investing (which it probably does).
I agree that some aspects of Kinect are a bit creepy. This, however, isn't one of those aspects.
Would be cool as a learning tool. In fact, Kinect could be used as a good teaching device in general.
Public school (and most colleges) is a joke anyway. As more and more people start opting for home school so that their kids don't turn into brainwashed tools of the state, something like kinect could be a great way to teleconference in with experts in certain areas. I could see an entire curriculum being done via In-Class HD Video Conferencing.

I don't really care about backwards compatibility, but for the people that do...just remember that when PS3 was backwards compatible, the PS2 games looked like straight ass (more so than usual). You were still much better off hanging on to your PS2 if you really wanted to play those games.

Reason 3. 400 days was 5 dollars for about an hour of "gameplay." And since it was all new characters with about 15 minutes of screen-time, it was very difficult to get invested in what was happening.
