I am honoured to receive PS3 fanboy rage and inappropriate moderation

agreed, great numbers for the ps3.

However, as predicted, the weekly total last week was a spike, as a result of Sengoku Basara and the release of new ps3 skus. including the white one.

I expected the total to fall this week and it did.

I also expect it will fall back into the range of 18-20k next week.
It will be interesting to see if I am right again.

Yes, agreed.

Further to this, isn't it funny how when the ps3 gives us yet another poor port, we STILL see every ps3 fan blaming developers.
This is 2010, not 2007, right?

Yet, when there is a rare inferior 360 port, such as FF13, then it is deemed to be undoubted proof of the superiority of the ps3.
Weird.

funny how this situation exactly mirrors the ps3 when it was launched...

correct.

but... less 50 million defects to the wii and
...... less 38 million ps3s already sold.

leaves 12 million left.
(by your logic)

Yep, you guys are spot on.

The reason people cheat in games is likely the exact same reason we have multi-account trolls and bubble cheaters on n4g.

They probably have no life or satisfaction outside of this website and thus need to feel they are winning, at any cost, to protect their ego.

I tried Move out. Move games are not that fun. I don't see my family playing that thing for too long. Was hoping it would be good, but I'm going to purchase 360 Kinect instead. If Move had fewer peripherals and add-ons it would've been good. Move is is a wii-mote rip off as of now - most reasonable people agree.

Wow, so easy.

It's so sad to see that the haters have learned nothing from this gen.

For the first three years, the ps3 was simply a flop.
It didn't have the games, nor the sales.

We had to make do with the promise of 'potential' by Sony for THREE long years, until the advent of KZ2 and UC2.

In the same way, Kinect may also have potential - yet to be realised by developers. After all, it is new tech. There will be technical c...

Dude, nice own goal there.

You cannot berate someone for their lack of education and then subsequently link to wikipedia...

Any worthwhile educational institution would fail you for that.
duh.

All you Sony fanboys above were defending the 'potential' of the ps3 not too long ago.

In fact, the ps3 took an awfully long time to impress anyone.
We all know this to be true.
Of course, in time the ps3 has well and truly impressed us all.

So, the lesson is, where there is potential, we need to allow time.

It saddens me to see that this lesson is very obviously lost on the posters above. why did we defend the 'po...

yeah i liked this game too.

Is funny how it only got 73 on metacritic, as it is one of my favourites.

Sometimes it seems the games I have the most fun with are not necessarily the ones that have critical acclaim.

X3 reunion was like that for me, too.

agreed.

They seem to be doing a lot right.
Of course, Kinect remains a big bet, that could still go either way.

The 360s redesign, however, is simply pure win.

"...an investigation into the perceived limitations of Kinect reveals an intriguing truth: the device itself is merely a vehicle for supplying data to the console. What defines most of its capabilities is the software, and that is in a constant state of evolution. Forgetting this is a big mistake in evaluating the potential for Kinect as a gaming platform. "

There we have it.
The hardware is a vehicle for ever evolving software, using the technology.

Up until now, the ps3 has been losing momentum in Japan.
Broadly speaking, the ps3 was at 18-19k weekly.
I was very surprised to see the ps3 numbers spike like this.

Of course, the release of SB (a staple of jaoanese history and gaming), the white ps3, the release of 160,320gb Hdd skus and the discounted clearance of older ps3 skus (120,250gb) explain this discrepancy.

I wonder, will the next few weeks return to previous numbers?

Really.
Amazing.
Fanboy fantasy.
A romantic ps3 fantasy romance novel perhaps?

I nearly choked, but then, this is standard fare on n4g nowadays.

This article represents creative writing for the masses.
It really does.

MS has always implicitly retained the xbox360 controller for those who prefer to use it.

Kinect has been misaligned by the press and the haters as trying to replace the controller. Of course, this thinking is quite ignorant.

While Kinect has the 'ability' to control menus and interactivity, it does not purport to replace anything.
Kinect, in its pure form, ENHANCES the aspects that we are used to, while retaining the familiar.

Thanks, Soda.

By the looks, this is nothing at all like the eyetoy.
The eyetoy is obviously just a webcam, while kinect is really so much more.

In light of what Soda described above, to say otherwise is foolish indeed.
