As much as I wanna bash Alan Wake because Microsoft changed it from the PC open world version to a linear xbox version I'm not gonna do that but shame on M$ for doing that.
Alan Wake was still a very good game in it's linear form it just got released on the wrong system thus suffered tremendously from poor sales. Alan Wake: Modern Reach 2 would have sold millions.

You guys are lucky as GT5 is being sent to retailers as we speak.
Sure many PC games have an issue right after launch that require a Patch, not a big issue as the sheer number of PC configurations is too big to get tested during Beta.
But on the other hand a company that is dedicated to the PC such as DICE for example didn't have these issues when they launched BC2. Sure it required a patch for the long loading time but for the most part the game was without major non-playable issues.
