Fun idea for you. If you really don't know if you will like a game rent it first. Watch some gamplay videos or the dev diaries. Try to get into a beta if you can or play a demo if there is one. Most games are sequels these days, play the previous installment of the series. There is one thing in common with every review, some blatantly retarded assumption that affects the score whether it be good or bad. Take the time to read the entire review if you need an outside opinion, the score is a...
Already played the Hell out of all three games this guy listed, but I'm still getting Reach.
The interview with Bungie was actually decent. Funny thing is their job listings hint at some kind of character customization maybe to the point of an RPG. They're calling it player investment. Reach definitely has some of this, but to me the job listing sounds like taking it a step further.
Here is the listing:

I've played the Beta, I know the gameplay of this game is very solid. I know the features this game has, they dwarf any other shooter on a console and will provide years of playtime for many. Its not hard to realize if this is an 8 than nothing else in the genre deserves anything higher or close for that matter.
Edit: The site gave Bioshock 2 a 10.
Who cares what they think. As far as the shooter genre goes this game can't be matched in terms of quality and content. One 8.5 with a bunch of 10s and some 9s isn't going to make a difference. This is the best shooter available on consoles and only loses in terms of content to PC shooters. I can't wait until Tuesday.
Case Zero was a great deal, but someone is going to twist the idea into something terrible.
Halo Reach has 1-6 and balance.
I would if college didn't have me so poor.
Time to free up some space on my pitiful 20GB HDD.
Day 2, another game I already own on PC and am still getting Reach. Another PC series coming to consoles. I'm starting to think this guy is a butthurt PC fanboy. Tommorrow will probably be part of the Battlefield(not bad company) series. You don't have to be so mad that Crysis 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and Battlefield 3 are going to be on consoles from the start.
Dear Microsoft,
Remake both Halo CE and Halo 2 for the XBL arcade with XBL multiplayer support. While you are at it add the three missing levels to Halo 2 and I'll pay $20 each for them.
I first played MK before I could fully remember it(don't tell the ESRB). I haven't played any of the more recent games though. I definitely will be picking this up.
Between this, Dead Rising 2, Gears of War 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Dead Space 2 I'm going to need a heavy duty mop.
The Colt Python is a .357 magnum caliber weapon.
I won't be getting this game. The under barrel shotgun, flamethrower and grenade launcher really decided that for me, but I was sure to be done with CoD after MW2.
I won't take the chance this time.
They played it on normal. Heroic is the way the game is supposed to be played and that is ten hours. Legendary is longer. Then there is turning all the skulls on which takes a whole 5 hours to beat one of the ten missions in two player co-op. Game reviewers are horrible at playing a game to it's full potential.
They said Halo Reach is better than Halo 3 in every way. They gave Halo 3 a 9.8 and Reach a 9.5?
That was a movie not a game.
Yeah, you should have to be able to pick up any genre and be decent to be a reviewer.
The article makes sense now. The guy is a but hurt PC fanboy mad about the Beta.
Bungie has full control of their new IP. The game would be the same regardless of the publisher.
PS3 and Xbox 360 games are the same price and so are the consoles. Xbox Live adds to the cost of Halo: Reach and yet more people play it before launch then most PS3 exclusive. Nice try.
