It's not about better; it's about compatible with what everyone is doing. Windows may not be the best, but it is the standard. That's extremely difficult to take away.

Only reviewers need to feel time pressure about the length of games. This is the one area where their assessment won't reflect what the rest of us want. Why? I can run Epic games exactly as well as I can Steam games (or Origin, or Uplay . . .). These are just storefronts, not exclusive platforms like consoles.

I couldn't have said it better (except "mindset" is one word). It cracks me up to see so much hate for having to buy some PC games somewhere other than Steam. They all run on the same hardware, ffs.
I just browsed through a half-dozen sources on this, and none of them know what her role will be as VP. Destructoid speculates that it will involve the new Google gaming initiative; and that does make sense, but it's not confirmed.

I'd be curious to see how blockchain even relates to making better games. All I can think of is the monetization aspect, and that has nothing to do with better games. Let's see what the future brings.
Why would it be close to its end? It hasn't been out that long, and cutting-edge tech was never its focus to begin with.

And like all those people, you're way off the mark. Games sold on Epic are not exclusive in any real sense. They run on the same exact PCs that Steam, Origin and Uplay games run (just to name a few other storefronts). Exclusive is when you want to play God of War, but you only own an Xbox and a Switch. On the PC, you are not excluded from any PC gaming, regardless of storefront.
That looks a lot better than I thought it would. What I don't like is the extra-wide render aspect, because it stretches the 2D overlays sideways.

Why? I know they have their dark side. All big companies do. But have you ever stopped to think how much you can do for free because of Google? Just (the nearly prescient) internet searching and Youtube alone are massively useful facilities.
