I think I can sum most people's opinions of this up by saying: Good.
EA are bringing something along those lines in soon. All your stats and achievments across all games and formats in the EA Sports range will be accessible from a central hub. That's definitely something that could be the future, but it'll be an almighty mess if every developer is using their own system.
I see no reason at all why this can't go on to be the best in the series to be honest
I think this review is a little kinder than I would have been. Red River definitely offers something a little different, but only 2.5 marks away from perfection on a 10 mark scale? The problems faced trying to get everyone into the back of a Humvee should knock that off by itself
Do you reckon they can do it lochdoun? I'm not sure they've quite managed to get their head around the whole online thing yet, which is a real pity. The friend code stuff was nonsense, for example
Plus the guy's got a moustache. That's got to count for something
One area I think developers may have fallen down on when it comes to Trophies/Achievements is not offering players free minor DLC as reward. Surely that'd increase the number of people who put in serious time with a game. Say every 100% complete was rewarded with a piece of exclusive DLC (obviously it'd just be something silly like a costume or avatar add-on) I think there might be a little more reason to actually try for some people.
Have to say, I think SCE missed a trick with Move Heroes. It could, and possibly should, have been a hell of a lot better than a series of sub-par mini-games. Where was the humour that made the originals so special?
No I agree that not everyone is a whore for them, but it's the kind of thing that's been seeping into the general gamer's conscience in the last few years. I wouldn't dream of spending hours chasing that last trophy, but at the same time if I'm looking through the list and there's something there that is doable, I'm very likely to give it a go just for the hell of it
For the most part I would be inclined to agree, but at this point in time Nintendo seem to be handicapping themselves unnecessarily by again looking at last generation's technology as their spec template. Wasn't one of the main attactions of the Wii it's initial price point too? A $400 price tag will rule out a lot of "casual" players initially, surely?
Can't wait to get my hands on this!
is bringing out a machine that's only on a par with the ps3 and xbox 360 as they're reaching the end of their lifes a particularly good idea on nintendo's behalf? within a few years it'll have them bang smack at the bottom of the pile again.
Great game, cant recommend it enough
He's done a pretty great job so far imo, remember they've got to work under the shadow of SCEA, so they've to fight for autonomy. the .ca site was a big step
Agreed with the above, I'm not really seeing anything that makes it stand out
didnt it ship with move support? perhaps this update just activated it?
i played it in may with move at ea in vancouver, so it's not something that theyve only considered recently...
This is quite possibly the best news ever*
*slight exaggeration, but good news nonetheless
no, it clearly says fastest handheld OR console
Both are fantastic titles so there's plenty of room for each of them in everyone's collection
No Game Dev Story? Boo!
