Definitely an afterthought. I've been too busy thinking about all the great games I'll be playing on my PS4.

Yes and having to connect a camera to operate a system is almost as bad as having to be connected to the internet all the time to play discs you paid.... oh wait!

Mostly marketing nonsense and buzzwords? :]

I really hope he at least enjoys Qbert.

I've been keeping an eye on this gem and plan to pick it up when I have a chance. I purchased Odin's Sphere and if it is by the same dev (Vanillaware) like I'm assuming, well their style is AMAZING. This will look great on the Vita's oLED screen along with Dragon's Crown!!!!

Wait 3-4 years when devs like naughty dog really START to push the ps4 to its limits. The results will be phenomenal graphics and gameplay. We can expect them to get better and better with time as devs work specifically with the PS4 hardware and learn to get the most out of it.
The winners are us gamers fortunately and I'll be preordering a PS4 because I expect some of the best exclusive games.

He must be speaking from a financial perspective because great games continue to be released, earn tons of money(at least for other companies), and I think PS4s release date "feels" just right personally.

Lol somewhat deceptive title, but I should have read the article first. ""I guess we could've maybe been a year earlier (with new consoles)" That seems like a much more reasonable statement.

I don't mind an option to by a SP game digitally as long as it's available physically as well and I don't have to sign in every time i want to play MY game.

If i have to sign in to play MY (single player) game it better be 95% off retail price. Even then I like to buy physical copies of games i really like.

4594d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yeah. Being able to buy a physical copy of any great(especially single player) game is very important to me.

Excellent use of sarcasm sir!

A am not making tons of money right now but should be able to afford it if I play my cards right. I think a lot of people on here are confusing "low income" with abject poverty, where people often have NO INCOME and no free money. People that should be fed, clothed and given other opportunities before considering luxury items.

I think it depends on how you define low income, how many bills they actually have to pay, and whether or not they are cheating the system(etc.)
Either way this is really none of my concern. I'm getting a PS4! :)

Where I live they often don't pay for food and shelter and it is not uncommon to see them drive away from the supermarket in luxury autos. It may be the families that actually work and prioritize that will be affected.

I don't feel comfortable with always on personally, or HAVING to go on the net to play my games.

To me it is simple. If it is "always connected" I probably will not buy it. This goes mostly for single player games. Though we will likely see some games with some kind of gimmick added to justify that nonsense. Actually, this may be one of those games.

Probably not their definition of "mass market".

4668d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm glad people are starting to realize this, or what it entails. If I can't play MY game without an internet connection or buy a physical copy, they can go #@$% off.

I would wait and see how well AMDs new proprietary APU technology makes use of all that GDDR5 before making that kind of claim.

Liked your post overall though.

Since you mentioned the CPU....

I think PS4 will startle people by showing them how amazing games can look/play if properly optimized.

Another win for both PC and Console gamers. :]

I'm well aware of that. I probably should have reworded my post.

But, my first two words were, "specs matter"....

I was referring to people who focus on graphics much more than other important aspects of video games. Or devs who have shifted their focus away from what has made games special and focused "squarely" on graphics (Final Fantasy series)

I'm all for powerful hardware as long as it's used responsibly a...

Specs matter, but not to the extent that many people think.

Also, I would like to see people talking more about gameplay, creativity, etc.

Yeah and we get to laugh about it.
