The pricing for the old school games is pretty steep though. Agreed it would be a major dick move if the purchases won't carry over...
I "tested" one of their systems with the wii u and they pretty much fucked me over with empty promises. So I won't buy it right away. That's what consumers do if a company abuses their trust.
Yeah this and the next zelda are the only reasons I kept that thing... Every year there is like one game worth playing :/

As always hardware will only sell if they make good games supporting it. We have seen what happens if they don't with the kinect...
The problem is that you never know what you'll get with the season pass. It's comparable to investing in a game on kickstarter and it's kind of a gamble. Sometimes you get you're money's worth sometimes you don't, the Dev is not obligated to do anything in particular.
I bought it one time only: the crew. I know the Dev (played and loved all their games) and i knew that I would buy most of the new cars anyway so it made sense.

When I played it in early 2015 the performance was great. But the story was just boring.
It's all about them games. If you bring amazing must have titles to the xb1 people will buy it. Ps3 was horrible in the beginning but thx to stuff like TLOU it was an amazing system in the end.
Both next gen system are still uninteresting in terms of games. As gamer with a pc I will only buy the console with the best games. And I still haven't decided.
Final fantasy changed after IX. FF IX was the last FF from the original team. The other half went a different direction with FFX.
I enjoyed XIII. Especially with the optional stuff there was actually depth to the gameplay and strategy etc. The story was OK for me about the same as FFX but with a much cooler protagonist. Still have to finish XIII-2 thx for reminding me :D

Microsoft is pretty shady in general. They tried to push their surveillance system with xb1 and now with windows 10... my government is even checking win10 if it's save and secure enough to be used in official business! The library of either next gen console doesn't justify a purchase for me yet. I chose pc as my main platform because in the end it's the cheapest platform if you factor in the cost of games. And it gives you the widest range of games and flexibility.
As a guy that grew up on games in the 90ies graphics are just amazing these days no matter what platform! The only deciding factors are game library and cost. At least for me :)
This just shows that people at nintendo are thinking the wrong way. They come to the wrong conclusions! And it will continue to go downhill with them if they don't realize what people want. I won't buy their next console in the first year though that much is certain.
People wanted a proper metroid title. And i completely agree. Metroid prime is amongst my top 10 favorite games of all time. It's so good!
But the fact that nintendo does something totally different with the franchise and on a the wrong system, means that I am no longer their market and should no longer buy their products.
And it's a shame because I'm pretty sure that a proper metroid title would be a system seller.
I agree and that's why it hurts even more that the wiiu is not doing too good. If they were getting full 3rd party support and had hardware that could do 1080p in modern games it would be the best console ever.
I admit that I kinda regret my wii u purchase because nintendo/3rd party devs really couldn't hold their promises. I invested in most of the early titles for it like mass effect 3, batman, NFS and both assassins creed titles and it was really enjoyable to play those games on the system.
But as time went on it got worse and worse with the release of games from 3rd party and the pinnacle was probably watchdogs that came out half a year later, still for full price and on top was a ba...

For me absolutely yes Witcher 3 is the better game. But it's also a totally different game for me. I played skyrim twice and both times I ended up modding and exploring and enjoying the world.
