I really don't need 4k. 1080p with some good anti aliasing offers perfect visuals for me. It's just that the display manufacturers need to sell something new because the 1080p display market is saturated.
The world is not ready for 4k. Most Internet connections can't stream 4k content(too slow), most hardware configurations can't render games at 4k/60fps and there is no movie content in 4k.

Cool to know that it's possible. But at this point a used ps3 is dirt cheap and a good investment because there are so many worthwhile exclusives. As a pc gamer it's best to get consoles at the end of their lifespan. Requires some patience but you get so much bang for your buck it's amazing.
I just don't see how VR can be a pleasant experience on the PS4 with its hardware. It's just barely enough the play recent games at 1080p/30fps but for VR you need so much more! Just look at the recommended specs for Oculus VR, that's way above what the PS4 can handle. I mean I look forward to being surprised by PSVR but looking at it now it's just not realistic.
Don't worry TR will sell great once it's released for all platforms. That's why timed exclusives are bullshit. There are probably like 5 persons in total that went and bought an xbox1 specifically to play TombRaider. Everyone else is just gonna wait until the PC or PS4 version comes out.

Jep the elite controller is definately worth it. Got mine 2 weeks ago and it's the best controller I ever used.
And finally I can turn on my pc simply by hitting the guide button. It's the full console experience, you come home hit the couch, take the controller and boot directly into steam big picture mode. I really don't see why you would need a console these days.

I will only play Bethesda games with full mod support. It will take a year or two but it's well worth it. My modded new vegas looks about as good as fallout 4 in certain scenes even better (I'd argue the model nv character models are way better than f4).
Consoles are the cheap way of gaming, you don't get options and have to live with what the companies force on you (like payed multiplayer). The hardware is literally budget pc hardware. They built the cheapest pc they could and sell it as a console. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. A lot of people prefer cheaper hardware even though the visual quality of your game is gonna be worse, and that is fine.

I feel like this game series is misunderstood. Rating systems are just not working for this game. This game is not about story and drama, it's just meant to be a fun experience. When you master the gameplay you are basically superman. And it's soo much fun just to travel around this beautiful world and do crazy shit. Just got my hands on the elite controller and it's freaking amazing. Expensive but well worth it since its your main tool while experiencing a game. I use it on pc (lame I know but I like hanging on my couch, so sue me) and it's just the perfect controller. Having options is always preferable to getting one single version.
