I continue to play and enjoy a few Microsoft games like the Forza Horizon series and MS Flight Simulator... but I really swore off all Microsoft hardware after 3 red ringed 360s. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I loved my 360 as far as games, and do wish they'd re-release titles on PC. MS certainly is a different company these days.
Hyenas, nice. I've stuck with Call of the Wild bc my dad is my gaming buddy on it and only has a PS4. I may finally pick up Way of the Hunter for PS5 on the next sale though.
They really should release it on PS4, there's really no reason it can't run on it. It doesn't look graphically better than Call of the Wild really. They could just drop fps to 30 and scale down resolution. Dad doesn't play enough other games to go out and pick up a new console.
Hallo Infinity, Dog of War and Redhead Reduction 2 are all such great games though!
lol I accidentally typed Contra here for Capcom... got my wires cross. XD
I liked the Beat'em'Up Collection, although I would have liked to see the SNES version of Final Fight, along w FF2 and 3.
I also liked the Fight Collection.
Yea, they went into it in the article, but it doesn't seem it was up to their standard. Their complaints seem to revolve around more recent "retro" from ps2 era forward.
I'm more concerned with earlier retro, so I love Capcom's collections. The Mega Man collections are so good, w plentiful concept art, music player, database.
The Contra collection is great. the arcade cabinet collections are great.
Yea, for all the hate that Konami got in the post-Kojima departure.... I give them major props for their efforts in the retro game department! I love their Retro collections and have gladly bought all of them.
See, the way Konami has approached it has eliminated the need for Roms. I'll gladly pay for them if they are made available to us. It sweetens the deal when they add things like concept art & alternate international versions in the package.
...
My apologies - I actually hate the Dynasty Warriors series, I wouldn't really recommend it. I was just trying to make a point. 😂
Dynasty Warriors , because they like mashing the X button to exhaustion. (any of them - they're all basically the same w minor tweaks) If FFXVI can be considered a jrpg, then so can Dynasty Warriors. You get XP, level up, and it was made in Japan. These are the prerequisites that people argued here were the only thing needed to make a jrpg. So who knows? 🤷
**But seriously, I would say the Tales Series. I really liked Tales of Arise... some people don't. The ...
This is hilarious and I actually saw somebody here on N4G call Final Fantasy a sleeper hit recently. (in all seriousness) XD
Now refund them, sell the cards and make a few bucks profit.. at least if you get banned, you have nothing! XD
Jk though. Go enjoy your games. It's crazy the risks some people will take just to score a few bucks.
I want to play as the god or whatever it is who is drop kicking dinosaurs through portals instead! 😂
I really prefer the hand drawn sprites and animations of past titles, but I guess by the 7th entry in the series, it's time to try something new. It's impossible to play through all of these titles at this point, ha I put the most time into #1-3, but I also put a fair amount into 4 on Vita, bought 5 but only put in maybe 10 hours. I never got around to 6... these games are just too massive! They really are a ton of fun though.
**Edit, oh my bad - #6 was 3D chara...
Yea, I wouldn't risk abusing the refund system and having my account banned. I have way too much invested.
Absolutely, and what an incredible wild ride in VR! I've never felt so nervous in a horror game than being there, running, hiding in the shadows. What a rush 😆
Solid lineup! You have great taste.
FFIX is one of my favorites! I hope they do a more lighthearted stylized one again some day.
I want to see Final Fantasy Tactics revitalized too. I adore the world of Ivalice. Moreso in Tactics & Tactics Advance games.
@--Onilink-- ha yea, I did end up engaging in the semantics more today. (below) Yesterday I had kids running around the living room, couldn't focus enough to engage. X'D
But yea, you hit the nail on the head - it's not "enough" of a jrpg for me. It's watered down, and I was never a big fan of DMC games. I still want to experience the story eventually though.
The real issue is they went and built Nuts and Bolts, which is not what fans wanted - a vehicle construction game. Had they stuck to a straightup platformer, which fans were craving, it could have done much better, akin to Yookah Laylee.
@Shane Kim - I answered above. It's an action rpg. We had them back in the 90's. I gave an example. But I concede, it's still a "classic jrpg", it's just a matter of acknowledging the sub-genre.
What do you call Zelda?
Now they're like the guy in the race crying because he twisted his ankle, then throws sand in your eyes and then tries to push himself to first place.
