The BGFG buyout is the worst thing to ever happen to N4G.

*I played through the PS Vita port of Borderlands 2, which was much like that. I finished the game, but it severely affects your aim at that point. "Playable" is debatable. Functional, in that yes you can aim, shoot, walk, run... but you don't actually hit your targets effectively.

Lol, like the Outer Worlds Switch port. Technically it exists and runs... often hits 15fps during heavy action, but why would anybody subject themselves to that experience? 😂

Much strength to you too in this journey! 🤜🤛

I imagine most all of my gaming time will be with my kids now! I only recently started showing them slightly more intense games like Ratchet and Clank and Spider-Man. It's about as much as I'll allow their age. Trying to be a responsible parent without being TOO prudish! I watched horror movies w my dad by age 6, haha.. but grew up w terrible anxiety. Can't conclude it's connected, but I don't ...

So if I play this on PC at 60fps I'm playing wrong? Some people will hit above that.

30fps is valid, but not ideal.

As long as it maintains a rock solid 30fps it'll be playable though.

Yea, we all certainly go through stages in our lives and I can't say "this is how a person should game". I enjoyed my single 20s years, ASM'ing a couple of Gamestop stores & then binging Final Fantasy XI Online, World of Warcraft, PS3 or 360 until dawn the next day. But I recognize that was a stage of my life that I don't want to return to. I don't undervalue other people who are in that binging stage, I totally understand. For me though, I'm happy with my ne...

Lool, your Avatar gave me mental images of juggling 3 kids Parappa style w timed music prompts! 😂

Yea, i can appreciate what the Wii did more now through the lense of a parent. I was single, in my 20s during that era though. It wasn't as much for me back then, so I sold it. I like that the Switch offers some motion controls, but doesn't force it. I hand my 3yr old the steering wheel peripheral w motion control & auto-gas on. My 6yr old prefers a standard...

Yea, I get anxiety looking at services or even my own backlog. The options are overwhelming knowing you won't have time for most of them!

As for your kid, i set up my workdesk w 32in 4k monitor next to living room TV so I can put my 6yr old on the PS4 or Switch.. she's not so picky about insisting on PS5 yet. That may be an issue if yours is older! Occasionally she wants Bugsnax, Sackboy or Astrobot specifically on PS5. In those cases, my pc is decent enough to ga...

Ha! Literally what I do, N4G is open ALL day long at work! 😂

I've actually deleted my N4G account a number of times, feeling I'm wasting too much time... but I always come back.

Very good points. Learning that it's a losing battle is a must, and like the article says, you have to learn to let go of some games.

I too got big into handheld gaming again after the first baby, first the Vita, then Switch. (I'd like to get a Steam Deck!) It's good, bc you can take it around the house with you. Pick up and play within seconds, always ready to put down when needed. Also retro gaming!

I learned to never play a game I can'...

Hands down my favorite product by Microsoft and deserves all the acclaim.. and I'm primarily a Sony guy.

There is NOTHING that comes close to this in VR. This is my go-to when I get tired of playing other stuff and just want to relax.

**and I'd argue the Landing Challenges, training and Bush Trips make this enough of a game, because you're scored on your accuracy of a number of criteria. It's not all just about free flying.

Better get busy populating those 900 planets using your 4 options!

You literally repeated my point. They're not trying to be the same thing. Starfield is one experience, No Man's Sky is another. I will enjoy both for what each is.

"90% of the 1000+ planets in Starfield will have no life, according to Todd Howard"

No Man's Sky is teeming with life. They're not even trying to be the same thing.

THAT was amazing news. The rest of the show was whatever for me..... but THAT. Wow.

*I just wish they'd bundle the original SNES version with it, or at least release on Switch Online.

*Edit - I take that back. Star Ocean Second Story remake was also incredible news. Loved the original on PS1.

Ha yea I remember playing the original Deer Hunter on PC as well!

Although not a hunter in real life, I've always enjoyed hunting in games. But it really took off when I introduced my dad to this game during a visit.

He's not usually much of gamer, except for maybe golf... but he went home and bought his own PS4 after trying it here, now plays this weekly with me online for 3 1/2 years now. He's in his 70s, but has amassed over 1000 hours in t...

Excellent map. I started this morning. I made a challenge for myself.. I arrived to the Mangrove coast, and i tested to see how long I could walk ankle deep on the shorelines. 1.5 mins, and I was ambushed by my first crocodile.

I love this. The gators in Mississippi were (understandably though, as true to life) too passive and just weren't that fun to hunt. The crocs in Australia are a blast though.

Also, I had set my controller down for only a few ...

They'll wait until the dust has settled and the mega VR companies have emerged.... then Microsoft will buy them.

I have zero interest in this, but I guess it's a non-violent shooter option for younger kids, or those not into more violent stuff. nothing more beyond that.
