...but what is with all these games with lifeless backdrops. I mean, if that sh*t was going on outside my office window then I would switch off the lights and watch or something? The lights in the buildings all remain static as the buildings provide little else but a backdrop.

Also, what is with the rail-gun cinematic action sequences. That is, sitting and watching for a prompt instructing you to hit "A" or "X", etc. Comes down to nothing more than a next-...

...do we need to read/see this.

We all know the Wii has never been about the graphics although some titles do look pretty smart. The Wii has always been about the innovative control scheme.

My bet is that the Wii-HD (when its released in 2010) will be what should have been released a couple of years ago.

However, Nintendo must be laughing all the way to the bank at the moment. Nothing like packaging up old technology in a new case and making huge wads ...

...this game will sell well and look fantastic but like most blockbusters, will never win an Oscar.

The ending left no lasting impression, especially the rail-gun shooter finale. However, I will probably play through it a couple of times but not to see the ending.

...end PC then getting this game seems to a no brainer.

I am disappointed that the console versions have such obvious graphic issues and early reports suggest that the PS3 version is the weakest overall although I have yet to see a detailed comparison. However, no matter what the game on 360 or PS3, if it suffers from frequent:

- Pop-in
- frame rate drops
- low res textures

Then chances are I will rent and not buy. Graphics don't have to...

...Far Cry 2 reviews for the PS3 to start coming in. I've heard over the past few months that the PS3 features the weakest graphics of the 3 versions although how weak is yet to be seen.

If there is too much pop-in, slow down and low res-textures then I will be opting for Bioshock over Far Cry 2. However, Resistance 2, Fallout 3, LBP and Dead Space are first in line this Xmas.

The Wii still has some solid titles its just that you do have to search for them between some of the worst games that have been released for many years...Wii-Music anyone?

However, the Wii is aimed at those that are still amazed by how a can opener works or those that sit on the toilet unraveling a new roll of toilet paper wondering how they get the cardboard roll at its center.

As for the elderly who seem to be getting into the Wii, why the hell did they not get i...

...I would love to see more revamped arcade classics on PSN. Don't get me wrong, PSN has some standout titles that I know MS would love on XBLA but I would simply love to see more yesteryear classics revamped for a modern audience. Maybe have as an unlockable feature the original version of the game.

Would love to see a remake of StarRay from the Commodore Amiga which back then was actually a remake of Defender.

Anyway, as long as more games like Super Stardust, ...

Halo 3 is a year old and Resistance 2 is the second in the franchise to be released on the PS3 so I'd expect it to look better than the first.

Halo 3 did have some pretty nice visuals but I think it did not live up to everyone's expectations which is why it seems to get bagged so much. The story for Halo 3 was good but not great - it certainly did not feel like the big showdown I had been hoping for but it was fun none the less. I think what ruined it for me personally was the ...

...what it will be like when SOCOM is released in New Zealand/Australia. We don't exactly get premium support for on-line games in this part of the world but I hope we don't end up having to play on servers hosted in America or Europe.

Mind you, SOCOM is not being released in New Zealand until 27-November. Heaps of time to iron out any issues.

...then you get to enjoy both Motorstorm 2 and Pure. They have both scored well and offer different gameplay incentives.

Only those who have to state that "Pure>>>>> >MS 1/2" is obviously a rent boy of Microsoft and I dare say the red ring in your household is not limited to your 360.

...is a superior game in every way to the original and yet the original scores 8.9. IGN must really have weighted the game down because it is not as fresh as the original.

However, still a good review, nothing that really brings the game down. Probably get it next year as I'm saving up for R2 and LBP right now.

...of this game from E3. The game looks and plays like one of those throw away sub games that came as an extra on those EyeToy Play games on the PS2.

I simply cannot understand how this sold so many. Must be a lot of parents feeding the wants of some real spoilt and entertainment starved kids in Japan.

...got the green light. That is, a couple of SEGA developers were getting their jollies off on a character they had created and thought it would be a cool idea to build a game around her. What they forgot was that they had no idea how to make a game as they were only hired to dust off the keyboards whilst the real developers were at home patting themselves on the back for their recent successes with Sonic and Sega Rally.

After watching the trailer for this game I thought it looked ok as an XBLA or PSN download that would score around 6.5/10. However, releasing it as a full game?!? surely SEGA is joking?!?

Oh wait, now I get it. SEGA is going for the Guinness book of records for most released games that no one buys record. Hell, they might just do it however, it would probably mean breaking the...

...I hated the one where you headed into the tunnels/mines. It really showed just how linear the game was as the so called branches took you down a left or right path.

Furthermore, when you finally reached that giant spider like creature (sorry guys, I forget the name of it), it ended up being a big sissy. Hit it on its toes until it walks back onto a platform which sinks after a couple of other moves. I appreciate that big boss battles are just about working out the pattern t...

...but I believe that the global credit crises is starting to impact more and more consumers. Consoles are not a priority purchase no matter how inexpensive they are.

I will be interested to see global sales figures for the upcoming holiday period. It may be an empty victory for anyone shouting that they sold more consoles as the numbers will more than likely be way less than estimated just a few months ago.
