I love the game but I would love an endless mode...its annoying how you get 10 minute snippets of such a wonderful game.

Is there an endless mode???

I really hope they patch the on-line to introduce winnings and clan support. I would love for NZ drivers to form a clan to take on drivers from Oz and to bet on the outcome.

It takes as long as it takes. To suggest a racing game needs less development than an FPS is just plain stupid. Especially when you consider games like COD keep churning out the same game using the same game engine year on year.

On a side note, GT5 took 5-6 years to develop and cost me $97NZ. COD: Black Ops probably didn't take half that time and costs $129NZ. People will still be playing GT5 long after Black Ops has been superceeded by the next COD game next year. ...

Enough of all these silly reviews. Those who have it generally love it, those who don't will continue support it being the worst game ever.

Graphical and interface issues aside its easily the best driving game I have played. My biggest problem is that you really need a good racing wheel to play the game and get the most out of it.

Girl Guides and Boy Scouts earn badges, could that be considered the same thing?

I love the game but don't agree that it is 10/10 material. The lack of consistency in the visuals across the different courses and some of the small details need addressing before its worthy of a perfect 10.

In terms of gameplay the AI would need a major overhaul before single player would attain a 10 also.

For me, its a 9.5/10. I'm loving it but it's by no means perfect and feels a little undercooked on a couple of fronts.

Man, generating hype is like shooting fish in a barrel. Infamous was great and the sequel looks to be as good if not better. However, lets not over hype things like we seem to do with every upcoming game.

No, each is entitled to their own opinion. I also like arcade style games and am looking forward to the upcoming Motorstorm 3. I do however prefer simulation over arcade as I find myself coming back to it more often than not.

Arcade is for quick pick up and play fun.
Simulation is for those wanting more or a challenge.

You have to admit that some of the visuals leave a lot to be desired. It really feels like some things were not finished in order to meet a pre-xmas release.

I hope they patch some of the "rushed" visuals. Polish up some of the lesser detailed tracks and this game would be the ultimate in eye candy as well as driving gameplay.

When you gloss over the visuals and focus on gameplay then GT5 is a near 10/10. Visuals are a real beauty and the beast affair. Sometimes they are simply stunning, other times they look terrible. Rome and Madrid are easy some highlights but the rally tracks in the first special rally event are simply dire.

Things like the track maker and head tracking do nothing for me as they seem poorly implemented at this stage. I still have not been able to sync my PSP with the game e...

GT5 visuals are both its strongest and weakest points. There are moments when the game is stunning, simply stunning. Then there are moments where nothing seems to come together and it all looks so terrible. Try the first special rally event. Even though the environment is as sparse as they come the level of environmental detail is lacking. Graphics in this level make the game seem like a 6/10 in terms of visuals.

Someone needs to post a GT5 vs GT5 graphics comparison as...

@sitlab
"It did Burnout's feel, Motorstorm's off roading and Ridge Racer's arcady-like gameplay"

That's the first I have heard of that gameplay mix used to describe GT. You clearly wasted your money if thats what you based your purchasing decision on. On the box it states "The real driving simulator", even with arcade mode you should have known what to expect. Tell me, do you buy flight simulators for an Ace Combat experience? <...

See, the thing is I have this thing called a life. I was not really waiting for the game as life does not stop just because you're wanting something.

Am I glad it was released...hell yes, but did I lose any sleep waiting for it...nope.

For me GT5 gameplay is giving me all I was expecting (and wanted). Where I have been disappointed is a lot of the smaller details that tarnish an otherwise brilliant looking game. Its almost as thought two development teams were building the game as some tracks, like the cars, look brilliant and others look no better (or worse) than Prologue.

As for the course make, its pretty lame. I was hoping we'd be able to create all the tracks not included in the game. For insta...

I've put between 8-10 hours into it so far...the graphics are a mixed bag. I am also wondering how much they had to give to be able to get a tick against 1080p (albeit not true 1080p) and 3D support.

quite honestly, I would have preferred 720p with a rock solid 60fps and no screen tearing. Oh yes, a minor thing, ditch the head tracking till its actually of some use and can be done right.

One of the things that sticks out like a sore thumb for me is the...

Just why do you think CAPCOM need defending. What exactly this gen have they done to deserve your support?

The only thing that has come close to being worthy of the CAPCOM brand this gen has been bionic commando rearmed on PSN/Live.

Kids...Come and get it!

CAPCOM are alienating those who helped make the DMC franchise so successful in the first place. Mind you, they started down that path when the released DMC4.

CAPCOM...experts in milking franchises dry.

Basically if you can install then do install. PC owners have been swearing by game installs for goodness knows how long.

I have to agree that the track editor is pretty lame. I was really hoping to create some tracks after some of the courses that are not in the game, the first would have been based on the Wellington street race (the Nissan Mobile 500) that use to be held in NZ's capital.

However, no chance of that as the track is just a bunch of parameters that generate random sections. Its less a track editor than it is a track randomiser.
