...Wipe out was released over 10 years ago and the only thing to really change is the fact that it has HD visuals. There is so much more this game could pack in especially around damage modeling of both the vehicles and environments.

Imagine if the underwater tunnels were to crack and water started to leak in. How might that effect using some weapons in tunnels and add a bit of strategy to the game.

...game reviews are completely subjective. I mean, since when do scores of 6, 6.5, 7, 8 and 7 round out to a score of 7.8. What, does the reviewer sit there and go...heck, it feels like a 7.8 even though my breakdown scores come in at 6.9?

...but was hoping for track damage especially since the weapons seem to be packing more punch.

...I just no longer have it connected to Live. Let me ask you this, if Gears of War was the first real leap into Next-gen visuals on the 360 then how bigger leap is Gears of War 2 in your opinion?

Gears 2 looks different and has some graphical improvements but its not looking that much better. Its not like the difference in visuals between say COD2 and COD4 which are both on the 360.

...give a damn as they get to enjoy both Pure and Motorstorm. However, I doubt either franchise is a system seller like Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid is.

...destruction unless the steps are made of platinum coated diamond. To me it does not look any better...just different in terms of artistic style. Now if the wind was blowing through and kicking up dust and the weeds were being trampled underfoot, etc then I'd be going wow. However, it feels like Gears of War 1.2 and not Gears of War 2.

Thanks for your response. Tell me, were you playing a bowling game exclusive to Home or launching the one you can buy off PSN and if it was the one of PSN does it use the avatar you create in Home when you play?

...Thats not much of an incentive to use home. What they needed to do was make it that by using Home you had access to exclusive game content or on-line options. Replacing one menu system with another (albeit a graphically rich one with home) to me just adds to the overall load time for actually playing the game.

I'm not saying it will but what if Home fails? sure there will be a surge of existing PS3 owners who will download and give it a go but once the initial excitement w...

...why this is such a great feature? If I want to play SOCOM I'll load SOCOM and create game parameters there. Same goes for any other multiplayer game.

Why would I load up Home, then load up the game I wish to play...it makes no sense to me at all. Also, if I was exploring home and came across a game that one of my friends had setup then chances are I'd be less likely to want to join as I'd rather stay/play in Home. especially if load times are sluggish.

I live in New Zealand and I don't believe we have dedicated servers in our neck of the woods so we are reliant on international pipelines for downloading. Sometimes they are good other times not so good.

Is it looking better that the first Resistance?....yes.
It is looking better than Gears of War 2?....maybe, but different artistic styles makes it difficult to compare.
Will I bet getting Resistance 2 when its released?...for sure but only because I enjoyed the first one so much. I don't give a sh*t if its better or worse than Gears of War, etc.

Game play really took a backseat to the tongue and check action and (b-grade) dialog so if thats your type of thing you should love this game. However, if you use utensils and your knuckles don't bleed when you walk then I recommend you steer clear of this one.

I would also love to see licensed vehicles you can customise in terms of mechanics and body. Imagine having your own custom paint job is this game!

To me, the Wii is like crack. The initial buzz seems fantastic but once that wears off you're left with something that leaves you feeling pretty empty. No, I don't take/use/sell drugs, but I hate the fact that Nintendo basically re-released their Game Cube with a motion controller and have kicked the competition. Given whats in the Wii its overpric...

I use to have a collection of over 300 DVDs and I sold them all. I am a huge movie fan but there are few movies that actually warrant repeat screenings. However, I was buying movies just for the sake of being able to say I owned it and could watch it any time I wanted. Strange thing was, after watching them once, maybe twice that was it. It would sit on the shelf and never see my DVD player again.

By the way, why not read my original post more closely. I was making a suggest...
