not even going to read that article...
i'm in two minds about this... that demo could so easily have been put on the PSN... mmmmmmmmm...
@ ttritanmike
i advise you to get rid of your PS3 and buy a 360. while you're at it, buy a HD-DVD too. there's nothing wrong with last gen machines, they offer plenty of great games and at least you get to go out more (well, back to the shop you bought the broken console from anyway)
can i remind people here that he said nothing about games! he was talking about the main things 360 owners spout about to prove their console is better. i think that was a fair article and a prophetic one
quote: Ahem, I agree with you completely. However, since Sony is leaving it up to the developers (I think its a mistake but maybe its just for now?), they better have support for all of the XMB functions + trophy support.
i think Sony are doing that initially, but i'd bet my life on it that eventually it will be mandatory. obviously some games are at the later stages of development. a game that is patched for Trophies isn't going to be as inventive as a game that is build ground...
another no brainer! christ the net is soooooo stupid. Sony never said that every game would be patched and who cares anyway because by late next year, no one will care (well unless its' 360 owners of course)... it may offset their HOME blues
LOL... what's this? is this a response to the 'games don't pause automatically when you access the XMB while in a game'? both pathetic! move along, nothing to see here
all the hardcore Nintendo fans are quietly been shafted, yet they sit back passively. they are convinced that Nintendo care about software, when in actual fact they are concentrating on hardware sales. the audience they are hitting at the moment will encourage devs to make 'fun' titles and the people that buy the hardware for that reason will not buy hardcore games. it's a vicious circle and one that will not please third party devs who have ploughed millions into developing hardcore games......
what if the sound effect was from the game: 'Snaaaaaaaaaake!'
ok this sounds small fry, but having played dozens of RPGs, i can tell you it will be bigger than you think... aaaaaaa... the sound of accomplishment...
@ 19
perhaps they use their d*cks?. lol
that's the problem with DVD9s ya know
i can't believe some people are moaning about this. we just got what we've been waiting for. here's a good reason to replay all those games you have gathering dust. if i was Sony, this is exactly what i'd do. it might annoy a few people but it will certainly appeal to devs... and that's very important if you want to justify developing just for the PS3
the PSP needs proper development time and effort, were as the you only have to sneeze to produce a DS title. a little harsh, i know, but there is a sniff of truth there
there is nothing new here at all, just a bored journalist digging through old news and adding spin
what utter CRAP!
@pumpkin...
you sound like the fanboy here matey. lol
actually nintendo did not have analog sticks first the pc did that sony were first to have two analogs in a controller for console also the patent for sony`s motion contoller existed lomg before ninty as far back as 1995 in fact.
as for hard drive`s sony announced their hdd well before ms and online too but failed or at least refused to bring them to market early citing poor internet speeds as the reason.
sony don`t copy as such they improve technology and invest in ...
Infamous is a MMO game, while Prototype is a GTA-clone-fighter... that's the difference. and SuckerPunch made arguably the best platformer on the PS2. i'll take Infamous, thankyou, 360 owners can have the compromise
enjoy prodding the dragon while it sleeps.
