That's no different to whats on the PS3/360 now though. Do you think everyone on Xbox One will have their own copy of a game stored in the cloud? It's not the game that is being stored, it's the license that you're given to play the game when you purchased it.

If I go to the PS Store now, I can look back at everything that I've downloaded since 2008 and I can download any game from the list. This is no different to what will happen on PS4/XboxOne however ...

Well for an open world game inFAMOUS looks very good. This game does look amazing though.

Really there was no need to even mention inFAMOUS :) lol.

good to know. Can't wait to see the latest build at gamescom next month.

The Vita is a great system though, it just lacks third party support at the moment. I don't think you could blame that on Cerny as he wouldn't have been responsible for the third party line up of games.

Vita is definitely capable of bringing console gamers to mobile but we just need more games! The PS4 almost certainly won't have this problem.

Well you just said it, Evo are planning to patch in weather effects after launch, as well as damage effects (although I think cars will have slight damage at launch). What the hell is wrong with you people? lol. Just sit back and let developers release games that are missing features that should have been in the game at launch. It's funny because the people defending this are probably the same ones who criticize Forza for not having weather effects and night racing. This g...

I think it's rushed because they are having to patch in massive features that should have been there from the start, they openly said that the game was 35% compete just a few months back, and they aren't even reaching 60FPS. Racing games this gen are 60FPS so I don't know why DriveClub can't do it. If Forza can do it on weaker hardware, then there's no excuse for DriveClub IMO.

For the record I love Evolutions games, I have bought ever...

Is that going to be the excuse when this game comes out unfinished then?

its not a free to play game for a start, people without Plus have to pay full price. it's like saying BF3 is free to play on PS3 because its part of the instant game collection. DriveClub is rushed and its missing features that should have been there, stop defending it!

How is that the fault of one franchise though? Surely it's the developers fault for trying to imitate CoD's success as oppose to trying something new. It would be like copying someones test paper and then blaming them when you find out you've failed. Nothing is stopping other developers from trying new things.

I agree that it's sad to see so many developers attempting and failing to reach CoD's level of success, but IMO we still have lots of amazing FPS ga...

CoD4 was the most influential game this generation, and even though the latest games in the series haven't been as innovative, the series still managed to redefine a genre and change the way people think about multiplayer gaming.

Developers may try to imitate CoD's success and fail, but that's their own fault. Blaming CoD for generic FPS games made by other developers is a pathetic excuse.

The two games you mentioned (Mirrors Edge and Bulletstorm) are both average games. Mirrors Edge for example had bad combat, bad story, bad voice acting etc. Yes it tried something new but it was a half arsed attempt at it and that's why it didn't do well imo.

I could just as easily say developers are better off trying something different like Heavy Rain, which was very unique but still managed to sell 2.5 million. Then you look at a generic game like Fuse which did t...

I want more games that give the player options that effect the story. Games like Heavy Rain and Beyond are already doing it but it would be nice to see more games doing without using QTE's and just more conventional game mechanics.

Open world social games like Watch Dogs and Division seem to be the most innovative next gen games, crossing the line between multiplayer and single player experiences. Amazing graphics is always a good thing though :)

@spitfire
I'm not saying IW are better than any of the developers that I mentioned. I'm saying that not making a game open world is not a valid reason to call any developer lazy. what need is there to make CoD open world? I've never heard anyone say "CoD is good, but it needs to be open world".

by the way I don't personally play CoD but I get really sick of people hating on it for reasons that apply to the majority of other AAA games. Assassi...

Yeah same as Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream, 343, Dice, Insomniac, Guerrilla etc. Devs who make linear games are so lazy!!

haha yeah every time I check the release date it seems to be further away. I guess they're trying to keep up with peoples high expectations after how amazing the first one was. really hope it comes out pretty soon though.

Outlast is one of my most anticipated PS4 games alongside inFamous SS. Shame its not a launch game though. Do you guys know when Amnesia 2 is coming out? I thought it was scheduled for q1 2013!?!

haha, You'd be surprised how many people actually fall for that. I used to work at PC World and I sold a fair few of those £70 HDMI cables =P they make more money from those cables than they do from the TV or laptop that the customer buys with it, which is why the sales reps are pushed to sell that kind of stuff (bags, mice, cables etc.)

As for the consoles my store never pushed one over the other, it just depended on the sales reps personal opinion usually. Both con...

but if someone likes the game they're renting then they'll buy it. I've rented about 45 games in the last 2 years and I've bought the ones that I enjoyed. games like Heavy Rain and Ni No Kuni which I would have NEVER paid full price for because I wasn't sure if I'd like them.

its like watching movies online. if you watch one that you really like then you'll probably go out and buy it on blu-ray or DVD. why would you spend money on something that yo...

One of the best games for the WiiU IMO and definitely one of the best uses of the gamepad so far. Would have loved to get a sequel with a proper story :(

4723d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

You can say that about any game, though. Would CoD, AC, Uncharted all be better as movies just because you don't have a choice of where the story goes? Naughty use cinematic effects to enhance the overall game and story.

As for the article, it just seems like they're nit picking about things which don't need to be talked about. Why are people complaining about a linear game not giving you enough interactivity? It's not supposed to be an open world sandbox game...
