I get the feeling they know it will sell in Japan regardless of how long it takes to get to market, so they're getting as many as they can as fast as they can into foreign markets.
How does it compare to the new Steam version?
The "point" of the article (if there is one) is that people are buying a system built for portable local multiplayer in order to play local multiplayer, and the author is somehow surprised.
Yeah, I know, right? Apparently 5 million units sold in six months is slow?
winter_hill says it stands for Virtual Currency.
Oh! Thanks! ^^
@zerocarnage Where are you getting your bullshyte information? Don't care about taking a loss? 4-6 years until their next console? You need to clean out your pooper there, bud, because there's nothing good coming out of it.
The only way M$ can gain marketshare is if they are first to a new generation, like they were with the 360. They launched at the same time as Sony this gen and they're behind 2:1 in sales. If they launched a next-gen console a year after Sony they...
What is "VC"?
What are you talking about? They're both there at 2:18.
@DigitalRaptor I know why the PS4 isn't BC with PS3, but there's no excuse for it not playing PS1-2 games. That's just Sony being dumb.
I wouldn't really say close. It's still probably at least two years away, if not three. That being said, the amount of time and money M$ put into R&D for this mid-cycle upgrade is just downright stupid. There's absolutely no way they can hope to make back the cost of its development.
HOW?! I've never once ever seen a Switch in stores. Where are people buying them?!?!?
@niko04 I'm not so certain. As yellowgerbil says, they're at 100% manufacturing capacity and are still having supply issues right now. I live in Japan, close to Tokyo, and I've never once ever seen a Switch in a store since launch. That's insane. I can't see sales increasing at all until they stop making retro NES and SNES consoles and focus entirely on Switch production (which they should be doing, but nobody ever said the suits at Nintendo were intelligent businessme...
@RegorL That's what I've been thinking ever since I first heard of the X. It's the most bizarre last-ditch attempt to wrest back market share. The R&D for the console must have been astronomical and there's no way they're going to make back the cost of the console through its lifecycle. I don't understand why they didn't just wait a year or two more and push it out as the first 9th gen console, since the #1 reason they succeeded last gen was because they got...
Hate symbol? Isn't KEK just an online trolling group? That's pretty far from a hate group. They're like anti-Single Japanese Women.
Why don't they go to OLED? It looks better anyway.
Correction: The X will be remembered as a great console that nobody bought and... nevermind, it won't be remembered. It will be forgotten as quickly as it dies.
I believe you mean: "With Sony having run rampant for the past four years, Nintendo has finally made a competitor for the PS4. Let the console race begin!"
I guess the biggest difference now is how my gaming PC actually has good games.
I still cannot believe how stupid Nintendo has been. They shouldn't be making any mini NES and SNES consoles at all and focusing solely on Switch production until they've caught up with depend. Not being able to find one in stores six months after launch is beyond f**king ridicuous. I've never seen a company with such terrible business sense and that hates making money as much as Nintendo does.
