I do understand people's complaints though, however I think Bioware did this deliberately. The ending is purposely vague and open-ended, much like Alan Wake. bioware's intention was to get people talking and interpreting, and from what I've seen, the accomplished that. I think some of the more volatile anit-ending ME3 fans, should do a little more interpenetrating, before completely condemning everything.
It's funny people get mad at Ebert for games can't...
It's pretty clear where you're sending this jab.
8.5 is a good score.
The more time I spend away from the game, the more I realize how fantastic it really is. seriously, I feel the triumphs of this game are getting dwarfed over 10 minutes. By the popular logic out there, a garbage game can have a good ending and be considered great, and that is just BS.
I'm glad becuase giant bomb is way bettter than gs
I did actually say my opinion, before stating it.
Candidate certainly.
AC3, Bioshock Infinite, Journey,Diablo III, Halo 4, Last of Us, etc. Stiff competition. Definitely to early, but it will get its props. My opinion is that ME3 is one of the best games I have experienced this gen. I really thought Skyrim had set the bar to high. And yeah, the ending is controversial, (I believe it was indoctrination), but even if you hated it, the rest of the game is outstanding.
I mean fallout 3 had pretty bad combat, bug...
It's not even witheld. How do you even know if they have dlc planned for the ending (though you can see where it could fit). People bring up the broken steel defence, but didn't betshda charge gamers as well? Why should bioware have to do it for free? It's clear they were going for something with the ending, and it didn't pan out great, but how could you actually expect it to be free in this day and age. Be realistic?
bitter much?
Because it is literally, only 10 minutes of a 30+ hour game. Other than the ending, which is up for debate, it's actually the best in the series on a lot of fronts.
Also, Uncharted 3s shooting wasn't that great, but why did it get rated so high? Because the game is more than just shooting.
Honestly, what the f*** do people want Bioware to do?
If they did amend the ending, everyone will say they withheld it to make money of DLC (Even though Alan Wake and Fallout 3 did similar things)
If it remains the same, people complain Bioware didn't finish the ending.
Godammit, they're only people. They make mistakes, and you cannot just cynically dismiss them either way. It's simply not fair.
Here's the thing. People are complaining that Bioware didn't deliver what they promised. However, lots of companies do that. Molyneux promised Fable would be the greates rpg ever, Nintendo promised WII would have dvd support out of the box, etc. etc. People make promises, sometimes they don't always keep them. Why should ME3 be any different?
*As we speak the mass effect twitter account is getting railed with people giving their feedback on the ending. I assure yo...
First of all, Bethesda didn't respond to gamers for a good couple of weeks. People keep using broken steel as precedent, but fail to mention the reaction time of the company. It also didn't come out until around may or june of 2009. DLC packs preceded it.
@Bimkoblerutso
I totally agree.
If games are ever to be considered a legitmate creative medium, having the cretors bend over on their work is just wrong.
If they admit something like it wasn't finished, that okay amend it somehow. But if it's what they intended, let it be. Also, it's just as much a slap in the face to bioware by their fans who are claiming 5 minutes made the entire series meaningless. That is just disrespectful.
It's funny that a 2 hour game could make strongly consider spending $200 on a system.
I hope it doesn't suffer the goty curse, where games get forgotten in the first half of the year.
Seriously, this game has had a bunch of issues in the 360 side. It boils down to the fact that capcom back a black horse and left the whit one in the cold. I'm glad I sold my 360 copy, because it's clear capcom just didn't put the time into achieve system parity.
I like Sessler.
Half?
No deal Sega. The soundtrack is part of JSR experience, and always will be a defining feature of the series.
I still think it's the best in the series.
EXACTLY mars!
I think these articles just need to stop. You don't have to go home, but all you ME3-Ending articles need to get off of N4G.
