What's the point, Blade?
A lot of the people claiming that there is a massive turn against Bioware just can't seem to understand that people have no reason to be vocal if they are satisfied. It really is incredible to see how far cynicism and zeal can take people.
Plummeted, lol.
It sold over 2 million first week. clearly you have been in the vocal minority too long to realize that they are doing just fine.
I'm talking about DA2 specifically. That game was universally disliked.
Haha, wise move Bioware. Learn from your mistakes.
10 does not mean flawless. Why can't people understand that? The Ocarina of time wasn't flawless, it just received the highest score one could give. Also, stop make generalizations, some people actually liked the ending,(which a vocal minority would swear isn't possible)so stop speaking for everyone.
Honestly, the reason ME3 has this backlash is because the people on BSN are severely critical. Most of them think their situation is special. This same minority is ac...
Word, Qwark.
People are talking about totally changing the ending, but aren't even talking into account the people who were satisfied or liked it. No, the want Bioware to patch to satisfy them. I'm sorry, but only an entitled gamer would think that. It should be optional, not manditory for everyone to alter the ending should they release DLC. And the notion that gamers expect for free is damn near childish. There are a lot of resources they need to pay for which excee...
Does a musician make music for everyone else? Does a writer make novels for everyone else? Not really. I don't know why people fail to recognize the importance of creative input that developers have. They don't make games directly for us. They wisely listen to what fans like and what is well-received, but ultimately their muse guides them, for better or worse.
What the hell are you talking about?
It's clearly their game.
And? Lost's ending was bad. That show was still amazing.
That is just stupid. So stupid. How can you call a game mediocre while at the same time acknowledging the lump sum of the content is excellent? Well, we might as well just give GTAIV a 2.5 because it's mechanics are aren't clunky, don't even get me started on Bethesda.
This is an interesting effect I never expected. People are now going in expecting ME3's ending to be rendered in 4-bit or something is as s****y.
But, some people are like, so?
The internet has made the ending far worse than it really is. One review site called it the worst ending in any medium. I was like, you are clearly exaggerating.
Man, if you can't see the stunted growth of Japanese game development this gen, you are seriously are just blinding yourself from it. The japanese are a very proud people, it's that same pride that mixes with a sense of xenophobia, that underlines a lot of things in their culture. Gaming is no exception.
Yes and hell no. People can be disappointed in the ending. Totally valid, but the escalation that is currently taking place has gone too far. The echo-chamber that is the internet, is now making the game out to be this massive flop. If there is another game crash, it will be partly do to the "dance for us, developers!" nature of a surprisingly large amount of gamers.
That's pretty dramatic.
They aren't gonna change it. They didn't say their would be a new ending. People are just making that up. He said there will be dlc, that offers more closure. That doesn't mean they are re-writing the ending, it could mean they are simply adding to it.
All this insane backlash, is why games can't ever be considered an art form. Like, can you imagine if Bob Dylan didn't go into electric guitar just because his fans hated his vision? What if Ridley Scott didn't make blade runner because companies thought it was too dark? I was really sympathetic to those left discouraged by the ending. But, I know find it hard to find that compassion now.
No, dude. I see why people are upset, but you cannot justify this. You simply cannot.
Is anyone actually thinking about this? You want Bioware to completely edit their ending, and you want them to do it soon? People in Japan just got the game yesterday. It really lets me down the way some people are acting.
How can you say 10 minutes ruined nearly a decade of work? How can you act like the game is yours to change? People are going on about how Bioware is terrible now, because of 10 minutes. If you don't like the game or the ending, that's fair, but to...
I think that is the right think to ask for. Clarification is reasonable, not everything has to be explained, but the most pressing questions should be.
The people expecting bioware to redo the ending and then patch it in for free are so disillusion that it would border in comedic if it wasn't so sad.
