Stop being ignorant. Voice chat for public areas was disabled so as to re-work it and make it work better on the servers and in general. This is what you do in beta, you find issues and correct them.
You still have chat in your personal spaces and also via phoning your friend so stop acting all hurt cause one thing was taken down to be worked on. If they hadn't done that you'd find something else to whine about... maybe even the very voice chat feature you're talking about too. ...
