If not publishers will pull the plug on vita and sony will have to hold the ps4 launch and use all their first party studios to develop games for the vita instead .

Sony have a lot of ammunitions for the holidays season and they will be a big marketing push for wonderbook, vita and ps3. Knowing they will have to fight halo4, wiiu and 3ds monster hunter4, sony knows that pricing, bundles and great commercials will help them fight the competition.
One of the reasons why sony closed few studios was to raise enough capitals to re invest in PR and marketing instead.

All sony needs to do his close few studios, bring their tv line back to the trinitron glory.(quality,affordable)
sony pictures needs to pump more and better movies.
sony xperia Is performing amazingly well against iphone and samsung.
Vita will do better once the holiday season comes.
Sony and especially kaz hirai understood that keeping some studios open just for the sake of having a massive portfollio won,t maximize profitability.
In order to release more funds for advertising and PR endeavour, sony needs to prioritize wich projects will most likely be commercially successful. and Gamescom shown us just that.
wonderbook is a perfect example of that.
Sorry born2live but telling me that after 7 months 3ds was only $170 compares to $250 can be explain by the fact that people were not stupid enough to pay $250 for last gen technology with pseudo3d .
You do not have to agree with me, all you have to do is put both machine side by side and you,ll understand that vita is well worth the price.
