I'm doubtful it turns a profit soon. They've admitted to missing targets 2 years straight for Gamepass subscribers.

Those multiplatform games are on Playstation though. He's asking for a reason to keep his Series S. If there's no good games that are only on the Series S he is actually better off unloading his Xbox and save money from not needing to subscribe to anything.

It sold badly. Despite what people want to believe. That's FACT. It launched in January and didn't even make the top 20 games on the NPD which includes BOTH physical and Digital sales as well. Whereas Xbox Fandom says Forspoken flopped, but, Forspoken charted at number 7. February NPD again Hi Fi Rush doesn't make to top 10 either. But if you look at top 10 Games in NPD for the YEAR Forspoken is number 10. So as much as Xbox fans want to run these 2 narratives they're ...

Forspoken was in the top 10 NPD though. It launched at number 7.

A couple spots behind the newest Fire Emblem. In the biggest market for games. In the same month as Hi Fi Rush. Notice Hi Fi Rush at a cheap price doesn't even enter the top 20.

Its really a shame. If this game came out to the Switch and Playstation I imagine it would have done well. Cutting out Playstation/Nintendo gamers is a terrible idea for Bethesda. 120 million PS4s/ 35 million PS5s / 120 Switches = 275 million potential customers just gone is a substantial market to miss out on.

Xbox only is guaranteed sales failure. Will be the same for basically most Bethesda IPs new or not going forward.

He's the VP of marketing so of course he's going to try to spin it. Notice they could point out sales or engagement numbers and didn't.

I'm fine with MP games. At least they're acquiring new studios for these MP ventures instead of forcing their studios making single player games to make them.

@Porkchop

My point really is that Xbox is mismanaged to the point that they have the MOST studios owned, but, have the least games released. Nintendo and Playstation release games regularly whereas Xbox does not. That's FACT.

Wow. Playstation has 3 of the 2023 top 10 games for the year. TLOU just climbed up a spot and MLB at number 3 for March launch. Playstation doing incredible to start the year.

Agreed. Also what's the point honestly? It wouldn't move the needle in Japan. Also Xbox can't even run their current studios so why add more to the plate? Xbox is completely mismanaged.

How so? Playstation studios are pretty well run. Can't really say that with the mess that is Xbix games studios now can you? Xbox can't release many games first of all and also have constant delays. Incredible how poorly managed Xbox game studios is overall.

$6 billion over 18 years is pretty low. Fate Stay on mobile made Sony about as much. Feel like TLOU moving to television will push TLOU passed that mark too.

Isn't it misleading to show all the gameplay from the PC build at 60 fps and pull the rug weeks before release? Plus to add insult to injury isn’t this the first game Xbox is upping the price to $70? $100 for the deluxe version?

Sorry sounds like just more excuses. It's surprising that you guys excuse the $2 trillion company for all these failures. Asking for better is met with such resistance its kind of amazing. It's just setting a real low bar. From the all powerful Series X no less.

So let's get this straight so you guys won't ask for better. So what next? Avowed? Elder Scrolls 6? Fables? Starfield? All going to be open world RPGs and you guys will just make the excuse...

"Yet Jim Ryan has publicly stated that this “hamburger helper” keeps Playstation afloat"

Just like the dumb idiot who started the thread about Xbox and reward points keeping MS banked on stupidity.

@343

Sorry dumb question. How did Sony worth 1/10th outbid MS worth $2 trillion? Since you clearly have those contracts in hand can you explain the money side of things?

Also can you explain how this politician receives money from Microsoft can be impartial?

So Microsoft can lawyer up, make contracts for games like Warhammer Darktides, ARK 2, Scorn, Contraband, Stalker 2 and also make $70 publisher purchase, but, can't make cont...

"- paying publishers not to distribute games on rival platforms"

Cool how is Sony worth 1/10th of Microsoft outbidding them? You guys seem to victimize MS/Xbox a lot. But still can't explain how Sony does this? Is this at gunpoint? Last I checked MS is making enough bank to make the biggest media purchase in history of purchases at $70 Billion, but, also is a victim that can NOT afford to outbid Sony on these contracts.

You know how dumb...

"Sony is allegedly paying 3rd party devs/publishers to keep them off gamepass alone, not MS consoles. If that's true they're not paying them with the goal of making their consoles more appealing to consumers by having 3rd party exclusives/timed exclusives but to specifically target gamepass. They want games to be sold at full price"

Again please explain how Sony is forcing these companies to sign these deals and illegally at that? Last I checked Microsoft...
