You know what else is predictable? EVERY E3 Xboxers here say the exact same thing in April like clockwork. Wait till this years E3, DX12, Cloud tech, Gears and Halo will turn it around. I think what Digimonmaster was saying is that 4.5 million PS4s in Japan generated more sales than 25 million Xbox Ones globally. So your both right, but, for that disparity is alarming.
According to EA's sales data they expect digital sales to hit 25-30% in the coming years. They have far more expertise and data to qualify their statement and you expect us to believe that Halo Wars or any game that digital outsold physical copies by some ridiculous margin?! Highly unlikely.
Halo Wars 1 did close to 3 million sales. If you think that is niche then these games are also niche based on single platform sales:

Assassins Creed
Forza
Fable
Resident Evil
All these games sold about the same as Halo Wars 1 did.
Convenient goalpost moving. It wasn't a failure, it was a 'niche' game. Seriously the previous game moved almost 3 million units so how is it 'niche'. If that is niche then I guess Assassins Creed which does about 3-4 million on each single platform is 'niche', along with Forza, Dead Rising. It got beat by Farming simulator week 1 sales.

Maybe you should do some more marketing research yourself. March is one of the bigger months because it is tax return season. People get big returns can go out and buy systems and games. The other two months that are big are November and December.
