Switch sales remain strong. If the supply we get stays consistent I can see the Switch beating the Xbox One sales this year. I don't see the Xbox having a couple good months near the end of the year being good enough to beat Switch sales. Just based on the stock we've been getting and how fast it sells.
So whats the current excuse for the poor Xbox sales? Why didn't their fanbase come back? It apparently dominated the last gen, but, those 360 customers didn't seem to migrate over and now you guys think a niche product will change that?
Except last time there was a power gap the cheaper system was the more powerful system. This time the more powerful system will mkre than likely be the most expensive option. Plus all the games on the Scorpio will be available on the vanilla systems so its doubtful that the expensive version will outsell the PS4 slim or the Xbox1 S.
I understand the hype around Scorpio, but, you would be an idiot to think that everyone is going to switch over for the resolution bump. If it was that important you Xboxers would have already bought PS4s long ago.
Most people will buy the games to play with their friends along with exclusives. The most 3rd party game sales will still be on PS4. Just as we have seen with Star Wars BF, Destiny etc.
Me too! Err... three I meant. Pun intended.
Vanilla systems always outsell the premium systems. That's 8 years of experience selling games at EB Games. There has NEVER been a single year where the highest price console has ever outsold its lower priced version. If you have some silly notion the Scorpio is going to change that you should dispel that thought. The vanilla S unit will easily outsell Scorpio. At launch it will have a month maybe 2 of good sales then drop off a cliff. Most people will buy the system that is cheaper...
Uncharted 4 was in the top10 selling games last year. Horizon is definitely one of the top selling games this year. Not sure what your smoking, but, double check your facts.
If the price is $500+ that is rather doubtful. It won't outsell the S at any point I figure.
Naughty Dog other than the one delay has not missed releasing a game EVERY 2 years so wtf are you talking about? They announced it in 2016 so 2018 would be right on schedule.
Probably won't happen till they break even on the $2 billion purchase of Minecraft.
That's exactly what I notice for my customers as well. The expensive units are pretty niche in terms of sales. Both the Pro and Xbox Elite units for example didn't or don't sell anywhere near as well as the vanilla units.
PS4 will still outsell everything and Scorpio unless it is cheap you can expect the vanilla S unit to outsell it easily. Generally other than the hardcore crowd price I find is the most important factor I find for most customers and where their friends are playing.
It will only be the obvious choice if is priced well. If not expect it to be a bit niche and low in sales. The lower priced systems have always sold better than the premium versions.
They also spend $2 billion to buy Minecraft.
A bunch of seagulls arrive!
When you consider that 3rd party games play the same and the online features are similar the deciding factor many times is which one has a more interesting library whether it is Halo, Gears, Forza, Uncharted, Persona, TLOU or whatever that tips the scale. It is the deciding factor for most of my customers.
Wow some amazing sales all round! Well deserved.
On PS4 there are already 4 million+ sellers, first Nioh, Horizon, Nier Automata followed by Persona 5. 3 out of 4 are Japanese and 1 European team. Averaging 1 every month that sells over a million units within 3 weeks of releasing on PS4.
What's 'better' is subjective. Your an absolute idiot to suggest otherwise. I have people specifically come in to buy systems for Halo, Gears, Uncharted, Kingdom Hearts, Persona, TLOU, Bloodborne. Don't get me wrong 3rd party games do also factor in, but, if you had a choice between the same 3rd party games that play the same and a robust library or one that isn't which one do you think would sell more? Yeah that's right the one more game options.
Facts are always relevant, just pointing out one whether you decide to interpret it a certain way is on you.
" You can see the switch beating the Xbox this year? LMAO!!"
Laugh all you want. Superdata just revealed 2.4 million sales in their first month for the Switch. That's roughly what 1/10 of what Xbox sold in over 3 years in a single month. They will probably hit 8-10 million sales this year so yeah it will outsell Xbox handily.
