Remember the big issue of mods on consoles? Years later 1000+ games available, 2 games use it.
Its on the competition to compete though. Its not Sonys fault MS has not prepared for this generation. Is it Sony's fault Xbox first party are struggling? That they have the studios doing the same games? That MS were forced to reset 4 years in? How come you guys don't call MS on their shortcomings? Sony came better prepared and have delivered where it counts, that's why they are dominating.
Looking better doesn't change the mechanics of the game though. So it doesn't really change the overall experience much. More game options however is always good. PS4 literally has something for everyone and a ton of 1st, 2nd and 3rd party exclusives. So if you have the option to play all those 3rd party games and exclusives as well, it is definitely the nbest option.
Proof? I work at an EB Games/ Gamestop and have for 8 years. I have worked every major launch from the previous gen to now. So I have lots of launches to compare to. Unless something drastic changes like we get a 2nd wave of orders (which is possible) this is going go be a 'sold out' type release, which makes for good headlines, but, in reality it won't be a good launch.

So very gullible. The numbers are so low its ridiculous. Sold out of such a small supply isn't exactly some feat you know? My store only had 18 available! Our Switch had 250+

No it does make sense. I actually work in a game store and the preorders selling out are not indicative of much. If I told you I sold 34% or my stock which we did this weekend it sounds impressive. Here's the thing, my store is the biggest in my city and we ONLY got 18 available. 6 presold units doesn't sound all that impressive though.

No actually for once I agree the numbers are pretty pathetic. I already posted my comparison of how bad based on my stores preorder allotment compared to the Switch at Launch. It's pretty terrible. And yes I do know for a FACT. I have worked EVERY system launch for the last 8 years. I saw my allotment today when we started taking preorders and it is extremely low.

Actually it is ridiculously low. Seems MS are not going get much of a launch. My store just received our allotments and honestly its pretty pathetic. Its not even a quarter of what we got for our Switch release. Solid line up, but, with Star Wars coming with a new movie, COD WW, Fifa, Destiny bundles that will heavily be advertised, I still see PS4 taking it. If Crash, Uncharted or GT bundles happen too then I doubt even the Switch could outsell it. If Sony really wanted to kick it up a notch just release all those bundles and a temporary $50 price drop and it would dominate.
What bundles can they really do?
Sony has Destiny, COD WW, Star Wars BF2 and Fifa 18. If they do Crash, Uncharted and GT (even for Europe only for GT) and anything Xbox tries is meaningless.
Switch already has Splatoon 2 and if the do Mario Rabbids, Mario Oddysey, Mario Kart or Zelda will do extremely well.
Xbox released Halo Wars 2 ( which sold terribly ) and pretty sure they will try Forza 7 bundle. What else after that? Super Luck...
Now the deflecting begins. When is more options for gamers a bad thing? MS spent time at E3 and money pushing hard for this title then go and delay it. Its like MS has no clue how to budget or move product or planning.
PS4 will get bundles too, COD, Star Wars, Destiny alone will shift a lot. A Crash or Uncharted bundle will do would too. Fifa bundle in Europe will shift a ton too and if GT gets one too it will destroy sales. If there is a price drop goes along with those bundles I doubt PS4 being outsold. So I would say most likely.

You know if things changed so much from 3 years ago, how come Square is still having problems getting FF XIV on Xbox? Shouldn't it be all nice and rosy so that it can launch?
