Why didn't they keep this as XBLA/PSN? It went from possible impulse buy to "I'll wait on < $20."
Rayman 2 was the better game anyway. Wish they would make one in that style.
The review embargo is over at 9 AM PST / noon EST.
I'm not sure how happy I am with all this DLC already being announced prior to launch. Gamestop already took my money from Amazon because I'll take a new mission over a suit that doesn't add much to the game, but I'm already ticked I can't get Walmart's case at launch. And now Best Buy has a case of it's own?
This is gettin' just a tad ridiculous.
I could not bring myself to actually purchase MvC3. The fact is that the only thing to do single-player is Arcade, and dummy CPU fights. Then you have online.
Mortal Kombat? A 6-7 hour campaign, a 12-15 hour tower to conquer (konquer?), ladder+tag-team ladder, and online co-op. Also, unlockables in the Krypt and hidden fatalities to see. It also doesn't take a year to play online like MvC3.
It just has more content. And it's the better buy.
Mortal Kombat - 5
Superbrothers - 6
How is this a respected magazine?

You're joking, right? Please tell me you are.
Obviously Uncharted 3 is going to be superior to Uncharted 2 in terms of graphics and physics. It's a sequel. You know, one of those things that comes after a previous title? A SEQUEL? Those things that are... you know... designed to be better in that aspect?
God of War 4 going to have multiplayer. You are an absolute moron. When you link me one shred of evidence that proves,...

You must be joking. Call of Duty 2, 3, and WaW will be a seperate buy for about $80. DLC will cost extra for both collections.
Also, Call of Duty classic for 1000 Nintendo points.
Call of Duty: Triple Pack
Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty Black Ops
Can be yours for 100 US dollars!
I've been watching my brother play Resonance of Fate, always funny to hear Nolan North's voice pop up with the main character.
Fun fact: He's the defective turrets and the 3 cores in Portal 2.
I kept it muted and skipped to the gameplay on the first trailer. Driving seems to be just like GTAIV. I'm happy.
Because no other developer is doing this. New Vegas has 4 packs at launch, as did Brink. InFamous 2 has unique pre-order for both Gamestop and Amazon. Mortal Kombat had 4 unique skins at launch, plus a 5th in the collector's edition. Portal 2 had roll-cages from Gamestop. Bulletstorm had unique guns at Gamestop, as did Crysis 2.
My point? Stop singling out Rockstar. If your issue is with day 1 DLC already on the disk, or day 1 DLC that COULD have been on the disk, ...
I thought Wake was fantastic. Other than the lip syncing. That made me cringe.
They have their own engine now though, just tweak it and we could have an excellent thriller on our hands soon.
There really is next to no good games made by Ubisoft on a portable. I checked every GBA, DS, and PSP game they've published - the best I could find were LostMagic and Tenchu. LostMagic was mediocre, but unique at least.
In fact, Ubisoft's console games are pretty bad too. Without Assassin's Creed, they basically have nothing. Last generation they had Prince of Persia and Rayman which were excellent series but now they are not quite the same. I love the Rabbi...
If you do a little digging you'll learn that the default price for 12 months of Xbox Gold, $60, was raised to that price because Activision wanted a cut of the profits. Their argument was that over half of all Gold members paid the subscription for Call of Duty.
Basically, they said prior to the price increase they didn't get any money off gold. After the increase, they claimed they did. So yes, they are charging for the multiplayer.
Battlefield 3 will be the king this year. As far as RO: HoS, the developer hasn't the track record for me to think it'll be anything worth buying. See: Homefront, Brink, Operation Flashpoint, or, hell, Playstation Move Heroes. When they HAVE developed games and they turned out mediocre, I'm just going to go on the assumption that they won't change that fast.
There are examples of me being proven wrong. Nintendo EAD went from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat to Gala...
From what I hear however the campaign here doesn't really have any characters nor set pieces. You don't ever interact with anyone of consequence, and the levels play out on the same exact maps as multiplayer. IF I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, that's just the impression I got from 1up, IGN, and Gametrailers. If you compare this to Halo or COD, there is a plot (No matter how bad, looking at you Halo 2, 3, ODST + CODMW2) present in those series. It's nothing extraord...
2/5 from Joystig, 2/5 from G4, 7.9 from Gametrailers...
Yep, chalk this one up to mediocre. Glad I hadn't dropped a pre-order on it, will wait on the $20 if the game still has a community then.
Should go:
1. Super Mario Galaxy 2
2. World of Goo
3. Metroid Prime Trilogy
4. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
5. Either NSMBW, DKCR, SMG, or Brawl.
Of the 23 exclusives (I'm omitting LSW3, DJ2, RB3, COD: BO, and Res4), I own... 17. Only missing Sonic, S&P, Tatsunoko, Punch Out, Goldeneye, and Dead Space.
I'll definitely get Sin and Punishment and Punch-Out soon, but the rest are a pass. Well, maybe Goldeneye, if Acti ever drops it.
Sony announced a collection for the PSP games about 6 days back.
